Please help me install this interesting midi plugin on cubase sx1.

The manual says it is meant also for cubase, but the installing instructions are definitely for sonar or other stuff:

"How to install this MFX plug-in
-------------------------------
- copy the scaleEnforcer.dll file in your MFX plug-in folder.
For example, for Sonar users, it will most likely be:
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared MIDI Plugins

- as for all MFX plug-ins, it must also be registred.
To do that, open a command window and go into your plug-ins folder.
For example: CD C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared MIDI Plugins
then register the plug-in:
c:\windows\system\regsvr32.exe scaleEnforcer.dll
If your system folder is different, type the correct path.

There is no such thing as regsvr32.exe, mfx type.

just copying to vst folder - the only thing I could think of does not make the plugin show as VST/i, midi send/insert :(

Here is the link to the plugin I mean:

The author doesn't respond..

I will appreciate any help.

Tom, regsvr32.exe is right here on my XP machine in Windows/System32 directory. What did you mean by "There is no such thing as regsvr32.exe, mfx type." ?

<edit> just realised: Windows32 directory. I found it just by doing a search for it using Windows Explorer.

windows\system32 you mean :-)

well, i entered system32 copied and wrote regsrv32.exe scaleenforcer.dll
(I can't think of anything more than this)
It said dll register in scaleenforcer.dll succeeded.

but the plugin did not appear in sx, nor was it entered with update option in the midi plugin list

Later I also tried copying both the plugin and the regsvr file to cubasesx\components.
I picked this folder because it is there that is where stepdesigner.dll is.

i repeated the operation of registering.

no result.

well, in my computer there is no MFX file type. I checked it this way: in xplorer ctrl+F marked Type and in the list there is no mfx...

need some more help, please.

The 'type' of a file in this context refers to the file suffix. An MFX plugin will actually have a 'type' of dll.

I think with Cubase SX1 you may have to install an additional component or extra for Cubase to allow it to use MFX plugins... see the following page for some info
