Ok guys I have never used an IKey thingy, should the dongle come up like a regular USB disk does? I am assuming that if it doesn't then there is something wrong with my Ilok. I got Miro for Christmas and was looking forward to diving in but Nooo. On the remote chance that I am doing something wrong and somebody has an idea for me to try, any help would be appreciated. The store won't open until tuesday here.
Thanx!

i'm a little confused. you mean iKey right? last time I checked Miro is not running off of an iLok, that's a digidesign thing.
regardless all these dongles are recognized like a regular usb key is, except the iKey doesn't mount like it a hardrive. it has data on it that is only recognized by the syncrosoft software, and that's the program that manages it. if you are using the key that came with your miroslav you will find details about it's existence on your machine in the syncrosoft software panel - the License Center LLC.
it's possible that during your miro installation you somehow botched the install of this iKey and therefore you will have to reinstall.

Sorry I mean the IKey. Yes when I startup the LLC then I get errors and nothing shows up in the LLC. The same error comes up when I try and open Miro in ProTools 7 and then ProTools crashes. I will try to reinstall and see if I get better results. Thanks

Hey guys Thanks for the suggestions! this was very strange. I uninstalled and reinstalled Miro, but the same error came up over and over. I tried teh repair permissions. I restarted a number of times and then I installed the september 2005 Apple security fixes and then restarted and everything worked. I could finally authenticate my Miro on-line and now I am happy! Still very strange. time to get composing.

damn straight. i knew you'd like this one. i look forward to hearing what you do with it. there's a side to it that i'm starting to discover which you'll relate to gord, it's that it's great for jazz music too(cinematic big band?)!Beardedone wrote:You know it Dave. Philharmonik is amazing!

I am getting inspired by the winds. They are all very true and lifelike. I have been messing with chord voicings and experimenting with orchestration. All I can say is wow! Truely a beautiful library and engine.Beardedone wrote:

I have to say that MP is the first plugin like this that enables me transfer the music in my head directly into reality. Other synths and soundfonts and samples never sounded like what I heard in my head, no matter how much I tweaked the sounds. It's thrilling to me to have a musical idea pop into my head, sit down and score it out, do some tweaking of things like ranges, velocities, etc., and then suddenly it's there, playing out of the studio monitors.Beardedone wrote: I am getting inspired by the winds. Yes it is Idragsani. It is so satisfying. GPO was good but I found it time consuming to get the right articulations and especailly the levels right. With Philharmonic it is much more immediate.
