well, to be honest, it would surprise me if v2 came out Windows only (as it is now)headquest wrote:The box on the Amazon screen is for Windows ... but they usually package the Win/Mac versions seperately, so who knows. I believe that one of their cross-platform programmes recently went Windows only (was it Premiere?) so they seem to be moving towards a Windows bias.spaceman wrote:I wonder if it will go osx this time
an adobe product that's not mac, that shows you they spent f**k all in time 'redeveloping' it. They just put the thing in an adobe branded box
AT LAST!! Adobe Audition 2 info

I'm hoping for reworked vst support.

Well, Adobe did kill Premiere for the Mac recently, and their latest developpement effort, Encore, doesn't have a Mac version after a full developpement cycle; there was also talk on different video group that AfterFX might go Window only (but that was just rumors, after the release of I think was Motion or Shake or somesuch) so I doubt they'll go Mac with Audition but who knows.spaceman wrote:I wonder if it will go osx this time

Audition is a great audio editor and multi tracker, and the only program I regret after selling my Matrox RT card. Considering what I've got for it, should have kept the thing just for Audition and Encore. Thanks for the heads up headquest, might just have to save and buy it again; the upgrade price seems rather steep thought, wonder what the retail price will be for the full version.

I would like the ability to use effects in real time while you are in wave editing mode.
I hate having to select the portion of the wave and then "preview"

Thanks for the heads up headquest! It does look like they have added some nice features. I guess I was hoping they would add more midi features into the bag but then again wisely it appears they have left it as a dedicated audio editor.
As I have Samplitude 8 already, my audio editor needs are pretty covered, also 8.3 will be announced at NAMM (more goodies) but I also have the Adobe CS2 collection so they will likely be some sort of useful features that can be used between Adobe Audition2 and the rest of the Adobe CS2 collection. Adobe seem to have some pretty good ideas when it comes to integrating many packages. I would be very interested to see the full spec though.
Yes it does look like a leak. Nothing on Adobe's website. Maybe Adobe want to wait for NAMM.

Regarding the full spec, I will be a little disappointed if they miss out any of my feature requests
* Improved mixer including level meters on every channel
* more flexible routing including ability to send a track to multiple busses, not just one
* effects bin for mastering effects on the master channel
* Tempo track for automating tempo changes/ramps when using loops
* Full VST automation (implied in the advert)
Those are the main things that I would really like to seein Audition 2.0 in addition to the things already in the Amazon advert. Obviously there will be more stuff, because they just copied over the headline points from the back of the product box
It says in the advert for the full product that they have also improved the GUI. It will be interesting to see if we're talking minor tweaks or a full paint job.
christianmusicmaker - Audition 1.5 already has specific integration with Premiere Pro, and I think this is going to be even more explicit in version 2.

Do you... as wellchristianmusicmaker wrote: As I have Samplitude 8 already
That would actually surprise me. I don't imagine them at NAMM. But maybe...Maybe Adobe want to wait for NAMM.
I think the timing is aimed to coincide with the iminent anouncement of their other product updates in the media range...
