A few days ago, I was scanning this site and came across a new VST effect from "Elevayta". It's called "Extra Boy Pro" and gives you even more control over extracting vocals from music and creating instrumentals. Instead of your typical extraction tutorials/plugs, this one does it in the "spectral" realm and you can hear the difference. Spend some time with the demo and check it out. If it helps to advance your craft, all the better.
Some plug-ins aren't worth the $ (even some major names), but this is one that deserves the small investment (24.95US). Get the demo and try it out!

Yeah, I used the free one with great results for some remixes. The original (inexplicably) free version was already fantastic, but this lets you acutally disect the music and remove/isolate literally any section you want. Elevayta's really got a handle on the spectral-thing. This will be a popular plug-in for sure, and is worth 10x as much.

I have a customer who was very impressed with Extra Boy Pro and wanted to let others know. He asked me where the best place to post a comment is. I suggested that he post in this forum.
I am guessing that he was not previously registered and that he posted this topic.
You may have notice that I posted another thread in this forum and there is a news item.

Maybe have a read of the instructions and play a bit more. Start with the original demo on the product page and try and re-create the other demos. When you can do this then you will get the hang of it.hoffy wrote:i think this plug-in sux. mabye i tried it with the wrong material? what tracks does this demo work really well with that someone could point me to?
As stated, it is not guaranteed to produce high quality results on all material, but that depends on precisely what you want to do with it.
Extra Boy Pro, unlike Extra Boy, is not primarily for vocal removal. If you want to boost a guitar lick that appears on, say, the mid right hand side of the sound stage, you can do that, using Extra Boy Pro, with high quality results and little effort - on most material.
Vocal removal quality depends on how the vocal was recorded. For example, if the vocal is doubling a sax part in center stage then it will be difficult to isolate the vocal because a voice and saxophone occupy the same frequency range and, in this case, the same spatial position. However, if the mix is such that the voice is on one side and the sax on the other, then it should be relatively easy to remove the sax or voice by just drawing an ROI, or multiple ROIs around the relevant spectral signature regions.
Cheers

I don't know if Paul is behind this though, it would surprise me too.
