Organising libraries in Muzys 3

Bought Muzys 3 recently - mainly for the Synth though I did also want to explore the sequencer. Its a bit unusual in how its laid out but the Synth makes some great sounds. However I'm finding loading patches to be a pita. First it seems impossible to load any sort of bank of Musynth patches - you have to navigate to the library folder and load them one by one - no dropdowns or anything so its several mouseclicks between each patch - boring. There's an "Open patch library" item on the options menu but when I navigate to the library folder in the Muzys dir it can't seem to see the Musynth patches inside it?? - I can only find them if I use the Open patch item. Even then anything with sample content (I have a couple of addons like the Electronic cabin one) gives me a "can't find wav file" error and I have to browse around trying to find the damn thing - what dir structure do I need to make this work better?

I just edited my post the minute you replied, to add "serious question".
So, seriously, is Muzys alive again? :o

Ok then. Chose "Add a sound", then in the dialog box do a "Select All" (or shift-click the sounds you want to add). Hit "Ok". Muzys will ask you to name the group. That's it. Now you can save your selection as a Patch Library from the Options menu of Muzynth.

Thanks I'll try that - so the library folder is empty of groups by default?

I really need to find how to organise those addon libraries though - I installed them in the waves folder as per instruction but every patch I load can't find the sample.

Maybe I should have posted this there - I don't really understand why Muzys was killed off when MuTools just looks like Muzys but with less features so far.

I would like to see a Musynth VSTi myself.

My thought as well! Muzys was close to be a complete sequencing/sampling solution with not much missing. The turn to the Mutools sequencer makes no sense at all to me.

I bought Muzys for OS9 when the OSX version was said to be in development. Two months later the developer left the building. Now I have a fantastic software that I can't use (being on OSX now). :(

The whole Muzys application should become a VSTi!
Usable as a sequencer inside another Host with its perfect integration of sampling and synthesis, where a MIDI track inside the Host selects and triggers the parts in Muzys' Playroom. That would have been the way to go. Nothing like that out there - except for maybe Ableton Live in Rewire mode.

OK finally got this sorted. It seems the problem was that Muzys installs a default folder called "Waves" which you are supposed to set as the "Waves Folder". However the path the Elektronicabn stuff looks for is Muzys/Waves Folder/Elektronicabn/etc so I needed to rename "Waves" to "Waves Folder" to get it to work. How dumb!

Now I've managed this I've been playing away happily. I'm really impressed by the sound quality of the Musynth - why do so few synths manage to sound as rich and warm as this? I don't really know how to put it in words but it has a really pleasing "full bodied" sound not many other VSTi's have - it's up there with Rhino 2 for sound quality imho.

#1 There are lots of "unfinished" bits in Muzys 3.14
#2 The developer is under NDA as to why that is
#3 MUTON is nothing to do with Muzys (see #2) (except it's the same developer)
