Isn´t logic copy protection a dongle too??? i can imagine trading sequencers for a lot of reasons but this one, i would check for busted dongles or USB ports first.
In theory there is a huge difference in performance but in the real world is not perceived.

That's right: the XSKey. (SX???) For some reason, though, that's just peachy.

There's a difference between the Cubase and Logic dongle though: The Logic one doesn't require you to install some questionable 3rd party software (which the Syncrosoft License Control Center is, without any doubts) and it also doesn't require to bring your dongle online in one way or the other to get your upgrades authorized. It's a plug-in-and-go affair, the required dongle driver being installed automatically with Logic and the authorization number being sent to you via email.
Really, from owning both I can tell you that's quite a difference...

There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

On the rage thing -- I remember when Apple bought Emagic and announced no more PC updates. The boards reverberated with the screams for months. You may not hear much about it anymore because the folks who cared about Logic exhausted themselves back then. Or moved on to Macs.

So more like the old Cubase dongle. Believe me, I have no love for Syncrosoft; this dongle is just too much. I love having to unplug and reinstall it with every update too.Sascha Franck wrote:There's a difference between the Cubase and Logic dongle though: The Logic one doesn't require you to install some questionable 3rd party software (which the Syncrosoft License Control Center is, without any doubts) and it also doesn't require to bring your dongle online in one way or the other to get your upgrades authorized. But all in all, I can't really say that I've noticed any performance problems with Nuendo 3 or the dongle. It's all puppy dogs and rainbows over here.

Heaven help us, the Cubase users think they're a race nowstag wrote: Regarding Cubase.net, some of what´s said is true, but it seems some kind of racist statement, not all cubasers ask for dongles, or make jokes about it...

Dog´s have race, people don´t. People have nationality.
I said that because i thougth a community was judged as an all b\c of the behaviour of some of their elements.
When the dongle policy number was begun and after a long while too, many Cubase.net members speaked against it.

Hmm...That is a tough thing. I don't know anything about the sound card you're using, so it's hard to tell. Surely you could contact terratec about it though, no? I'm sure there have been alot of people with the same problem, maybe they have some recommendations on how to fix the latency problems. Personally, i've never had any latency issues with Cubase. Again though, never had a Terratec audio card. My girlfriend uses Sonar...and she's got all kinds of latency issues...among others.
