Greetings. First post.
I heard Hydratone has awesome-sounding and useful EQ. However, someone mentioned that it has some problems with latency. Anyone else experience this? Opinions? Thanks!
PT LE 6.4/Digi001 RTAS OS10.3.7, in case it matters.

Thanks for the reply. Related to this, which I should have written there, is whether RunTime contributes any latency to Hydratone or Pluggo or anything. Thanks again for your quick reply.

2.2 ms of latency in fruity loops 6, don't know if it would be any different in other hosts. Never heard of there being any problems with the latency though, what do you mean?

I've been looking for a good EQ to - well, this is gonna sound stupid because I know Hydratone isn't exactly this - but to "replace" my old BF Pultec EQ, which I used in OS 9 (I've upgraded and most of my old plugins don't work now).
So I posted a thread on Harmony Central, and someone said that the Hydratone EQ sounded really great but that he couldn't deal with it because of the latency.
And I did a Google search and a KVR search and haven't found a single thing mentioning poor latency.
So to answer your question in this incredibly roundabout way, I'm not sure what the person meant, and simply wanted to see if anyone else had experienced latency that was detrimental to any of their audio. 2.2 ms of latency is not anything to get my panties in a bunch over, so if it's anywhere near this in other hosts, I'm cool.
Again, thanks for the replies.
Great forum, btw. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute something here in the future, and not just ask lots of questions. But right now, I'm filled with questions! <g>

I should mention that I'm using Pro Tools LE 6.4 (RTAS)/OS 10.3.7. I keep forgetting to mention this, in case it even matters. Thanks.

Thanks for the welcome! I'm going to use the demo this evening. I am just switching to OS X, and for some reason, can't figure out how to get the demos off the HD if I am finished with them, so that's why the slight reticence in trying just any ol' demo.
But that said, I'm auditioning Hydratone and Pluggo this evening.
BTW, is ValveTone (also from Tritone Digital) worth the extra $50? I know, I know, try the demo....<g>

Thanks!
Just to follow up here, I downloaded the HydraTone Demo.
I experienced no latency problems, testing it out on toms, kicks, etc. Nothing. Sounded fine.
Loved the sound. It's a sweet-sounding EQ, what I was looking for. I'm not sure what it was about the HydraTone, but my ear kept gravitating towards the Hydratone slightly more even though the Waves EQs sounded good).
Can't stand the interface so far. I'm just using a mouse, and twisting knobs sucks. That said, I think you can use the sliders below the knobs to drag it across to change the amounts...I forgot to check this before I shut down my computer for the evening.
Figgered I'd at least give some input instead of constantly asking questions! <g>

Oh, mannnnnn, I do so hate to disappoint, but I'm a phony!! I'm not truly an Ustad. I go by this name just for fun in the band that I play guitar in. I play keyboards and guitar, sorta Radiohead-ish, Cocteau Twins-ish sort of stuff. I also do a lot of recording (micing, tracking, mixing at Blueberry Buddha Studios in Los Angeles).
Thank you very much for the warm welcome!!
