Intelligent Machinery Productions Presents:
The Threshold

A collection of artificial impulse responses designed for the sole purpose of obliterating sound and creating droning washes of ambient texture. Abstract, harsh, luscious and dark fantasy IRs will warp, wash, drone, drown and push your sounds beyond the pale.

The Threshold is not a normal reverb IR set, but a sound mangling tool geared towards creating atmospheric soundscapes. But, with some creative thinking, this collection has limitless possibilities: add density to sound without affecting mix clarity, create unique layered effects on solo instruments, add bizarre new textures and reverse effects to percussion, and much more.

The Threshold will be released in serial volumes, each volume containing 50 IRs in pristine 32 bit 44.1kHz wav format that are compatible with a wide variety of convolution applications.

the higher bit depth produces a fuller, more fragrant smoke.

I must be missing something here. Must be something really funny. You joker defenately don't get my 2,50

I guess I don't understand your question.

why not 32 bit?

that's just the amount of times you're granted access to the download link before the link expires. you really only need the one visit, but if your browser crashes or your hard drive explodes, you have the ability to access the link again and resume the download.

try it again when the smoke clears. 8)

"why not 32 bit?"
because it makes no sence. at least without clarification. unless it is 32bit float which doesn't make sence anyway.
because it is a lot more to dl and more on hdd then 24bit.
It was just a simple question, mate.

These look good but can I buy them all in one go (even if a pre-order)? Charging $2.50 at a time to my credit card feels a bit silly.

because:

a) it sounds better
b) that's what I wanted to use
c) it sounds better

here, maybe this will clarify things for you. I made these months ago as a follow-up to a previous commercial collection. I've been using them ever since, and have discovered that the 32 bit format used more adequately replicates the subtleties of the impulse response than either 16 or 24 bit. when I finally decided to release them, I opted to release the format that would best reflect the results I desired to achieve with the collection. I also don't care if you buy them. I have no intentions of making a living off of this, merely sharing a tool that I've been using and trying to recoup the bandwidth expenses I'll incur in the process. as such, I'm not concerned about catering to the lowest common demoninator in order to make a marketable product. if you don't want to use the collection - no skin off my back. if you do - great, I sincerely hope you enjoy them as much as I do. for what I'm charging for these I don't really feel that I have to explain anything about them beyond what the product page details.

BitPass works on a prepayment system. You pay X amount of dollars that's credited to your BitPass account for making micropayments at any site that uses their system. I'm planning on releasing all 5 volumes of this collection over the next 2 months, so if you wanted to put all $12.50 in your BitPass account now, you could just dole out the micropayments from that initial $12.50 when the other volumes are available.

How long are your IRs? Some of the convolutions reverbs on the market cut off IRs after a certain amount of time, which is fine for 'normal' reverb applications but kind of sucks for weird experimental stuff like this ( http://www.spiritcanyonaudio.com/convolvers.php has more info on this)
