I've been toying around with the idea of getting back to my early Godflesh/Pitchshifter roots now that I might be able to afford a guitar again here in the next month or so..

How the old Me will meet the new is anyone's guess.

What kind of guitars are you looking at? I've been really happy with that baritone we talked about last year. My laptop has become my processing unit for it, though I still haven't recorded anything I'm proud of.

'van, you might want to try putting percussive loops through some of my desamplers: bLooper, cloudMaker, fLuxus, lfoGrainCloud, luGubrioso. and then, if the reverb is not enough for your taste, use primeDelay, geoDelay, traumDelay to thicken. i made the desamplers specifically for creating music in "sacred time" (where past, present, future all collapse in on themselves, like a temporal holograph). i bet you could do something really cool using this approach.

i like erdle's effects also, particularly orange grains, mr. pink, and white grains. white is my favorite, intellectually, but i just can't seem to get anything "useable" from it: it tends to make everything thin and digital-tinny sounding.

I'm pretty sure I have all your desamplers, and your suggestions are excellent ones for anyone to try out.

My 'Beat' dilema is essentially borne of Apathy; my first upload here at KVR was a mod of one of vurt's tracks I did some Godflesh-style drums on..

Which I need to recover if possible, John..

If so, I'm really torn between my love for Les Paul's tone and my need for a good tremolo.

As I've always done in the past, I'll probably defualt to a good Ibanez..

After the sounds I heard you kick out in that thread, you should be beaten with a stick for not producing anything by now..Sounds that good write tracks by themselves..

I haven't had a chance to get back to you, but I recieved your loop CD I guess a few weeks ago, and I'm really impressed by the over-all package..

How's that going so far?

You really need to do a demo track with the loops here in the sampling section of the forum.

I'd be pleased to do a demo track for you, but it's not going to aid sales any..

The bari is an Ibanez Mike Mushok model, all stock, which is fine for me and my noodling.



Definitely check those out before you buy as it's affordable and feels great to me. They're fairly light, too, which is nice because my back is killing me most of the time.
