Just a short morning-sigh :x . I bought Convoboy some months ago, and it's excellent, runs in any host I own and in many I know of, only crashes Soundforge8b (newest version). Well, SF has the "acoustic mirror", so you might say, do you need convoboy (yes I do, but that's another story).
Now I test Extra boy pro, which is outstanding, to a very reasonable price. And with some dozens of other plugins - yep, it crashes Soundforge.
Whereas the english Sony-Soundforge - purchase included some audio-restoration-tools, the german version or to put it exactly the downloadable upgrade-version didn't. And I like Extraboy pro, but what on earth is SF8 worth for me if I can't use it properly?

:x :x :x You can't go to a shop and say, "well Soundforge 6 was wonderful and stable, whereas Sony Soundforge8 is good for people who don't use the plugins I like, but is really really BAD for people who use the following VST-effects.... So please take it back and give me my money".

:x :x :x

I understand, why you can't simply give crappy software (or in parts crappy software) back. But it's a pain even though.
Adobe audition is some 50 Dollars cheaper if you prove you own, for example, Soundforge. But then I paid 400 Euro as I bought it and 100 or so for the update.
Okay, this was it :hihi: . Better curse a bit than to hit your PC, Sony won't even notice if my PC isn't working any longer anyways :hihi:

Stupid Sony. Why are they such idiots and yet so powerful in all manner of audio-related fields?

Perhaps it is worthwhile to write to Sony and inform them. It clearly has something to do with Sony's VST support implementation (which is referred to as both 'New' and 'Support'). 'Support' can mean anything from just being able to load the plug-in to being able to load and use the plug-in.

There are only so many interpretations of the VST standard that a plug-in developer can make exceptions for. :| There are also many host developers that apparently get it right. :D i.e. almost everyone else.
