I don't think you're going to win any more fans with all the renames and bumping, in fact I myself and getting less and less inclined to consider buying stuff from you.
Bet you´ve never heard such effects!

Could you seriously stop changing the title of this thread?

c'mon. the guy's working hard. he's a one man show trying to promote his products. what's wrong with that? there are those who do it for free, there are those who do it for money. sonicfire is trying to make honest money i assume and he's trying very hard to be successful. he's not doing anything bad imo and you're being hard on him for no reason.

Many of the developers here fit that description, and I can respect that. I might find myself in the same situation sometime.tuz wrote:c'mon. the guy's working hard. he's a one man show trying to promote his products. what's wrong with that? there are those who do it for free, there are those who do it for money. sonicfire is trying to make honest money i assume and he's trying very hard to be successful.
What I don't respect is abusing forum features in deceptive ways to get attention. Changing the thread title and posting to bump the thread to make people think "I haven't read that one yet!" isn't honest.

dirty dirty marketing. :p i just thought it was a little harsh. ethically, you're right. but i can't see dennis doing this with evil intentions. he's probably just very excited and wants to get as much attention as possible and do well financially. maybe he shouldn't change the title, but bumping wouldn't hurt as he's trying to make money off of his plugs. i think people should be able to handle clicking a thread link in vain only to see it's dennis' old plug. peh! nothing new... that bastard. depriving him of his bread because of that would never cross my mind. that is a harsh punishment for a click because of some mischief.

i really dont know what´s wrong with that. if others dont do that - fine. i do that from time to time to gain some more attention towards my plugins, since i think they´re fantastic VFM. period. and i dont think i´m not "honest" only because i´m bumping my threads from time to time. as tuz said, new users will read that, previous users can simply just ignore that. so, whats the problem with that?
ok, i agree i have done a bit too much bumping of course, so i will stop it now.
just my 2 cents.

Well, there are talented people here who 'promote' their software by describing it as 'free (mediocre) vst' and who get +70 page-threadtuz wrote:c'mon. the guy's working hard. he's a one man show trying to promote his products. what's wrong with that?
