Thanks for the link. This could be a good way to write music at the office in stealth :scared:

Does it support odd time measures and such? Almost all of my music is done by guitar, but the timings are so weird it's usually best to write it with samples and then perform a final version with the real thing.

If so then this thing is a sure-fire purchase. I never thought I'd see another decent host selling for less than EnergyXT. :-o
Excuse all the blood.

Think I'll have to pass on this one.

Well, my Toshiba M35 gets about 3-4 hours. I have a couple of higher capacity batteries that get about 6-7 hours each. Seems ok to me.

I think the notebook looks like a much better deal.

Well, yeah. I'm not into Micro PCs myself but if people are gonna talk about making music on Palmtops...

I wanna Casio Calculator Wrist Watch with Synth Studio. (No, I've never seen one. But what the hey.)

I'd settle for an HP-01 though.

cool thread! Can you plug in a keyboard extension to hit notes in their software? are there any other neat programs besides Chocopoolp?

how about anything cool for graphics and video? my Tungston E is coming out of the shed! It's charging

I would agree except the music apps on that platform thoroughly beat the crap out of their PocketPC counterparts, from my personal but admittedly limited experience... granted I've used slightly older PocketPCs but still...

That Windows mini-notebook costs at least $1000 more than the Palm TX I ordered ($250) and I'll have the Palm in my pocket everywhere I go. That's really the point. It obviously isn't meant to replace a real studio but is a cool little toy that hopefully will also yeild a decent idea or two.

The Palm TX also has built-in WiFi, Office suite, I have lots of Palm games, video and MP3 player, etc. so it has lots of uses for me beyond Bhaji Loops

I do wonder how well that little Wintel handheld would run a modern studio. Maybe Reason would run OK on it. I dunno. It would definitely be cool to see.

Eh, it's where most of my music ends up anyway, so why not? :D

Yes I left this open for jokes of this sort. Keep 'em coming folks :hihi:
But seriously, with these two programs you can replace the word crapper with places like "work", "school", "bus", "airplane", "lineup at the bank" - it's just perfect.

No doubt!

What kind of Palm are you using it on, and how well does it run? I'm getting my TX soon and hope it runs it well. It doesn't have a mic-in so I can't do any sampling on the john though :P
