I just came across this recently. I've posted it in the abe forums, but no on answered.
It has to do with PDC.
When I use an effect with pdc all is working fine. The delays are in sync and I'm happy.
....but when I turn the effects off the pdc is STILL there.
I want to turn them off from time to time to add a new synth midi track or a new live vocal or instrument line.
The only way to get the latency back is to actually delete the effects....this is nuts!!!
I've tried the "options->turn off delay compensation" route, but that doesn't eliminate the delay.
has anyone out there figured out a work around?
thanks

I see now why gol wouldnt want to bother with this in FL.... glad it has manual pdc.
Of course, with hosts like samplitude, and Cubase, PDC is better automatic, But even with those, I see the inherent problems with APDC.

plugin Delay compensatin.
The host automatically delays plugs that need a delay to do their job. This is good, except it adds to the latency of the host. It gets very annoying when you try to play something, and can't turn it off.

Ah, of course. Have you tried mailing their technical support? They seem to respond pretty fast.dusted william wrote:plugin Delay compensatin.

I read that. But they don't follow the forums too closely. Try mailing them direct: support@ableton.com.
