Has anyone heard of plans to release the entire Miroslav Philharmonik sound library for ST2.1.?

Sorry if this has been asked and answered before.

Hmmm...although companies have done crazier things, that would certainly cut down on sales of Philharmonik ;-)

On the other hand, Squids has said that ST2 will be able to laod the Miroslav sounds in a future update. I would suspect that there might be a disc of some of the library but not the whole thing.

You could always crossgrade. It's a bit less expensive.

I thought the thing, though, was that you couldn't load ST2 sounds into Miroslav, but it would work the other way around. I may be wrong, though.

Actually, the reason I started thinking about this was because IK, SR or somebody gave away some free Miroslav samples for ST2.1. They work great. I just figured they might be setting us up for something. I just don't really do a ton of orchestral stuff, so I'd have a hard time justifying the Miroslav to the Mrs.

Yeah, there are some free Miroslav sounds for ST2.1 but, currently the engine doesn't support the full Miroslav samples. I got the crossgrade to Miroslav from an ebay/web dealer. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to be offering that cheap crossgrade anymore ... it was scitscat.com...check him out, totally great prices and totally great service!

Thanks everybody.

I may just have to sneak this one in. It's been calling me for awhile.

A future version of SampleTank will be able to read Miroslav Philharmonik's sounds. Meanwhile, you can benefit from an advanced SampleTank engine that Philharmonik and enjoy things like the built-in CSReverb taken from CSR (classik studio reverb- high end reverb algo) and the fx send/return set up... hints of things to come perhaps! ;)

and don't forget about the Miroslav Refills Algodon!

Thanks again everybody.

Squids - How future? What would something like the library only cost? I mean, if I'd only save $50 or less, I'd rather have the real thing. I know you probably can't say, but it never hurts to ask.

Beergeek - Thanks for the tip on scitscat - they still have a pretty low price on it.

May go ahead with it, however, I didn't notice any saxes - kinda bugs me. How on earth would I do Milhaud?

Yep, scitscat! That's the same ebay dealer I originally bought Miroslav from...

This is actually the esoundz forum so you could also check here: www.esoundz.com That supports this company forum's existence (just to know).

There will probably be no ST format "sounds only" Miroslav so your best bet is to get the crossgrade regardless. How future? I don't know. The next major ST2 upgrade probably. But, ST2.1 was just released so I don't know when the next one will be except that I have seen it in the works and it will be cool... FWIW.

No saxes but you don't often find saxes in orchestral libraries. However, it isn't out of the question for us to do a jazz and big band library. ;) :o We may even have material from Miroslav for that. Who knows? :D

Squids,

I'm sure if I get the crossgrade, I'll get it from esoundz. Always had good experiences with them. It's worth paying a few extra bucks to get their excellent support.

Yes, Yes, Yes, do a jazz/big band library. I'll preorder now. Good horns are either non-existent or cost an arm and a leg. :)

I'm a little confused, guys. Didn't the last Esoundz group buy have a "Miro Mini" disc thrown in? I had assumed that this was a scaled-down Miro Philharmonik that you could load into ST2.1. Am I wrong?

I didn't go in on the buy, but I thought the mini disc was a good idea perhaps for a later purchase since I don't do a lot of orchestral stuff that I would need the whole package for.

If I remember correctly, that Miroslav mini-disc was for just about every format BUT Sampletank. I could be wrong on this. I don't know whether or not they were the same samples used in Philharmonik.

In any case, I've decided to go ahead and get it.
