If you follow this link

then go Steinberg->Upgrades->Cubase SE3

You get to the upgrade page where you can upgrade to Cubase SE3 for £50-£70.

You need to return a previous version of Cubase to qualify - but it includes Cubasis VST - which many of us will have lying around unused, I would imagine :hihi: Needless to say, I did and I was considering SE3 anyway, new engine and all. Saved £30 - can't be bad.

Just thought I'd share :D

I might do this - I do actually have Cubasis - I was thinking of upgrading to Sonar but the audio still plays up on my system

Does it still need a dongle?

Also does this version have the "External Effect" and "External Synth" as plugin function? - that's what I'm most interested in. Looks very interesting on paper.

Post

I know that it needs a dongle - definitely.

As for external synth and effects , :shrug: dunno.

hey scuzzy! :)

did a bit of searching and it looks like you can upgrade for a bit of a discount to SE3 from LE.

http://www.steinbergupgrades.com/upgrade.html

$90 from LE to SE3, plus another $30 if you need a Steinberg Key. Street price on SE3 alone is around $150.

My SE3 and key arrived on Friday :-)

Been playing with it since and SE3 is 99% perfect for my needs. The only thing missing is VSTi freeze, but you can create your own freeze routine using macros ( macros - cool !! ) which many people on the forums seem to think is a better solution than the SX3 freeze implementation :-o.

<-------Happy bunny.

<--------Still using EXT as well, though :D

T-William - would suggest that you go for it :D
