They dropped Premiere on the Mac because it could not compete with Final Cut Pro. Adobe still makes roughly 50% of its profits from Mac software.headquest wrote:The box on the Amazon screen is for Windows ... but they usually package the Win/Mac versions seperately, so who knows. I believe that one of their cross-platform programmes recently went Windows only (was it Premiere?) so they seem to be moving towards a Windows bias.spaceman wrote:I wonder if it will go osx this time
an adobe product that's not mac, that shows you they spent f**k all in time 'redeveloping' it. They just put the thing in an adobe branded box

In that case perhaps they would go mac with Audition some day. The mac-based wave editors are not as good by reputation as Wavelab/Soundforge/Audition are, and they are all PC only of course.

And Adobe just announced LightRoom a direct competitor to Apples Aperture. Mac only right now, but the Windows version will be along shortly.
And I think I was wrong in the last post and it is more like 40% profits from Mac, but that is still huge for them.
And I cannot tell you how many people would scream if they dropped After Effects for Mac. No way. Motion is no AE replacement. Nor is Shake.

Regarding the previous discussion about this it seems clear from that datasheet that there is indeed still no Mac version.
