I still haven't heard any demos apart from a short one posted by Vurt a while back. Is there any?
I need a drum sampler to "run" this. I suppose DK+ would be a good cheap choice?

Thanks Dorian. You said you would expand on it. So.....
Well, although the samples were good, it was only a few that I heard and I didn't hear much in terms of multisamples at different velocity. Let me know when the full version is up though.

My dear Armadillo , my english is very bad , (sorry) , and because of this i'm not sure if i understood very well your post . But i want to ask you something. You talk about multysamples at different velocity. "230 Ethnic Drums & Percussions" haven't samples at different velocity. All the samples (!) are normalised (!) but more important , there are 6400 DIFFERENT samples ! And this dvd have already 4,15 Gb ! You can imagine how big 'll be a multy velocity version ? 60-70 Gb ?!? And the price ? Sure 'll not be 29 $ ! Can't be !
Because of this , i think , is more useful to have a dvd with 6400 DIFFERENT ethnic drums samples, and if you need , you can make your own kits at different velocityes !
By the other hand , on the page of this dvd
http://www.dorumalaia2.com/230ethnicdrumsperc.htm
can be downloaded 3 different samples packs (3 instruments) containing ~ 50 wav samples . In my opinion this is enough for anyone to see the quality of this product , is it ?
With respect,
Doru

Thanks Doru, but I think you misunderstood me. By different velocities I meant like this: you hit a drum hard = high velocity, you hit a drum softly = low velocity. Those two samples will sound different regardless of whether they've been normalised or not.
So many replies to this thread and so many excited people, yet so little in terms of mp3 demos?
I appreciate the free wavs Doru, but I don't have a drum sampler and would much rather hear some mp3's of the drums.

Mr. Gray,
I just listened to your demo. Very nice indeed! I loved the sound.
What do you think about doing an extended piece. I'd love to hear it.

LoopAZOID is a free drum sampler that has served me well.
From my experience, you're gonna pay big $$$ for multisampled ethnic percussions (Stormdrum, etc). It's easy enough to program your own velocities.

Now i understood what you said . Yes , it's true , and you 'll find there indeed (even if all are normalised) different sounds resulted after different hits ! So you 'll be happy , my friend !Armadillo wrote:Thanks Doru, but I think you misunderstood me. Damn
I was ordering 230 Ethnic Drums & Percussions, filled in all needed information at Kagi, pressed "Purchase", and it took forever to get to the next screen, so stopped the process. Now, I don't have any idea whether the order passed through or not. Doru, can you verify this or do I need to contact Kagi? Thanks!

There are many payments , so i don't know ... send me your details at dorumalaia@emailaccount.com . Anyway if something it's wrong , you 'll see the problems writed with red letters at the top of the page , so try to understand what was wrong and fix the problems ( maybe the e-mail address , or other something ... )
