Melodyne - or is Cubase SX3 good enough?

I´m considering Melodyne 3.0 studio (the full version). I already have Cubase SX3.
I´m not able to download a demo of Melodyne right now, so I wonder if anyone has made a comparison between the two when it comes to their time/pitch correction tools? As far as I can see, both can do pretty much the same things here, but Melodyne will probably do it a bit better. But, would you say, is the difference in quality really worth as much as 700 Euro (the price for Melodyne studio)?
Thanks for any help.

There have recently been some threads on the SX forums regarding the 'warping' feature.
General consensus seems to be it is half-implemented at best, there are best practices for using it - but it's really not all that clever as of yet.
Whether Melodyne is worth it depends on your disposable income & how much you need it.
Isn't there a cheaper, cut down version - melodyne UNO or something?
Would that version suffice?

There is Melodyne Uno for mono sources. I need to be able to process stereo sources for pitch/time correction, and Melodyne Studio is the one for that.diverdee wrote: Isn't there a cheaper, cut down version - melodyne UNO or something?

But is Melodyne Studio a LOT better than SX for these things? I wouldn´t buy Melodyne if it´s only marginally better.

Ahh I didn't realise UNO was mono only.
That's a bit pants isn't it?
Are you sure it's mono & not monophonic (is that the right word? y'know as opposed to polyphonic).
Hmmm must be hungrier than I thought, my brains leaking.

All versions of melodune edit stereo sorces now
http://www.celemony.com/cms/index.php?id=m3_comparison
The main difference are:
Uno - one track only - like a wav editor
Cre8 - eight tracks
Studio - unlimited tracks - and is the only one with the polyphonic algorithm (this is new in version 3)
I just upgraded to studio version 3 - and it's finally the app I though it would be when I bought it 2.5 years ago.
re its quality - I don't think anything else comes close. I'm using live a bit atm - and warp is great for quickly kludging things so they fit - and sounds quite OK most of the time. But melodyne craps all over it in terms of quality. So is Melodyne a lot better than SX? - I think it probably is.
Dont shell out your dollars until you have played with the demo and decided for yourself tho
