Presets or Manymores for Manyguitar?

Hi Manytone-

Really like Manyguitar. It has great presets and a great sound.

I have an interest in experimenting within ... I guess I'll say ... darker aspects of the "alternative rock" genre.

I'm looking for a couple of things:

1. A variety of harsher sounds (like harder metal or hard rock sounds, but not for metal in my case). Rhythm and stuff suitable for my own chords, rather than leads.

2. A greater diversity of more ethereal (Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine, just for example) guitar sounds. There are some sounds useful for such among the Manyguitar presets, but I'd like to see a bank of something like this. Guitar textures, ambiences. Do you think there is anything to add in terms of samples in this regard?

Are these interests of mine in line with any of the content of your current schedule for Manyguitar, or can they be accomodated? I'm eagerly awaiting any further development of this product !!

Also, if there is anything else coming, can you say when ?

:)

Hi eatnatives

Thanks for the comments. Glad you are enjoying ManyGuitar!

1 - Harsher sounds .... We want to do more of this style. Some heavy chords and perhaps Midi rhythms etc. It will take a large set to get this right. No promises but it is a high priority for an addon Manymore. We'll see how it goes.

2 - ethereal sounds .... Most of this is achieved with fx and presets rather than specific samplesets. There is some ideas i do have though for making some samples that lend themselves to trippy ethereal sounds.
I would suggest though just throwing on external FX that are different than what is in the built in ManyGuitar stuff.... Tweak the envelopes and filters and Lfos a bit on ManyGuitar and you should be able to get plenty of stuff in this style going.

As for other stuff coming.... We are working on a few things but not ready to announce anything concrete yet.

I have to get my studio renovated here first ... I have put it off since i started developing ManyStation 18 months ago ... then it got put off to develop ManyGuitar.... It is one hell of a mess right now ... I need to get myself organised better. (And get the vocal / guitar booth properly finished ;-) )

Anyways ... we are always working here so expect some cool goodies from us soon.

I'm working on midi files for manytone to include in the manyguitar package (strums, licks, etc.)...I'm pretty into the heavy shit as well...so i'll make sure to include some darker stuff in the set. ;)

Noticed you mentioned cocteau twins, have you heard the deftones cover of "Wax and Wane"? good stuff. :)

Manytone-

Glad to hear you are thinking about these things.

Thanks for your thoughts about the effects.

I do use external effects in attempts to get the sounds I was talking about, but also wonder if some samples might lend themselves better to the effort.

I hope manyguitar with preset browser is coming. :)

Thanks again.

Frank-

Those midi files sound good. Any rough idea on when they'll be ready?

Re deftones "wax and wane", haven't heard that one. I'll have to check it out. 8)

Hi
Just remember ManyGuitar uses the Dash engine not the Wusik engine. Although similiar we had some custom coding done for ManyGuitar.

As for our ManyStation ... it will be using the version 2 engine very soon.

And the midi files ...
I am still gathering up a bunch and will release them to our users as soon as i can.
I hope within a few weeks or so i can release the first batch.

You are too quick for my editing. :hihi:

This occurred to me immediately after I posted. Sorry for my thoughtless mixup.

No idea really. I do everything i do on a "hopefully it'll be ready sooner than later" basis. :hihi: coz i tend to take on alot of projects at a time. I am however, trying to get the bulk of them out of the way before I start my new job next week...so who knows. :)

The Deftones cover of "Wax and Wane" (it's a cocteau song) was on their new Bsides and rarities album.

Hey Frank
Thanks... I look forward to those strums you did and hopefully a few other patterns from you.

Also if anybody else wants to help out with some Midi Guitar files please PM me. As i said we have a few KVR members who have contributed a few nice files so far. (And some have earned some free product from us :-) )

The more the better so if you have any ideas just PM me.

Hopefully in the first few weeks of Feb we will have a Big Whack of Free Goodies for all our users (Midi Guitar files and some cool vintage soundsets etc. That is our target date anyway for a big free update.
(For ManyStation as well)

Cheers and Thanks again
