I've found that the past work around to unsupported vst (not vsti's) was to use something like fxpansion's vst to dx converter. Usually this solved that issue (if not everytime). My big worry is that I havent heard anything about scripting updates in AA2???? Anyonw know anything about this plz let me know..

well tbh I do not see any reference, though my guess is that it might not be one of the major selling features, so I wouldn't count it out...Lagrange wrote:Can you say SCRIPTS anyone??

Man I can't tell you how much time I've saved using this feature in AA 1.5.. i originally started using this in Cool Edit 1.2. I noticed that I could use scripts from Cool Edit in AA.. There are certain features that definatly need script support so I hope Adobe has taken this into consideration..

FYI... AA 2.0 will be using C/R activation. I just phoned their support line (apparently in Bangalore) and eventually confirmed this.
Looks like the Macromedia acquisition is having an effect. No pun intended.
Thankfully, 1.5 works just peachy. Will be sticking with this for the time being.

I don't get it. Don't most Adobe product use C/R activastion anyways? What does that have to do with MacroMedia? and would you rather see a dongle instead?FYI... AA 2.0 will be using C/R activation. I just phoned their support line (apparently in Bangalore) and eventually confirmed this.

They've only recently begun using C/R on most all of their products. AA 1.5 did not, nor does Acrobat 6.0, Photoshop Elements 2.0. Previously, they were only imposing it on the very high end suites.
Adobe bought out Macromedia last year and Macromedia was a huge C/R shop.
To answer your question, no I will not purchase another C/R product nor would I go near anything with a dongle (yup, I'm "one of those people").
There are always options and I vote with my Amex.

Yep I'm also certain it's challenge / response based, after browsing their forum. A bit of a shame really. Photoshop Elements 3 that I own uses serial number protection.
It does seem that C/R is only used on their higher end stuff.
Cheers

Some people here just wouldn't make it in the analog days, or just do not remember that there was as much upkeep as there was recording time...not too mention tape breakage, (our worse wearing) and many other inconviences that were really a pain...I mean it's not like C/R takes much of your time...auto-tune 4 is C/R I only had to do it once and done....no big deal...ilok works fine in my system, I don't mind B4 asking me every few months to stick the disc in...life is to short to let little things like that get at yah and limit you..

Is C/R where you need to put the installation CD in whenever it asks you?

with auto-tune it was a string of words and you had to reply with the right string of words in response...BONES wrote:Is C/R where you need to put the installation CD in whenever it asks you?
