I just wanted to drop in and say that Chordspace is, without a doubt, the single most original, intuitive, unique and above all else, absolutely practical creation that I've ever laid eyes on.

For someone who is just starting on music theory and is still learning the relationship between chords, this piece of software is an absolutely amazing work that is not only educational but incredibly versitile and easy to use.

To all of those involved with Chordspace - in the ever-growing world of VSTi instruments and effects, you've really gone outside of the box and created something that defies all convention and makes me look back on all the hours I've tried to stumble upon chords that whet my pallet and wonder just how much faster my productions would have gone if I had this amazing piece of kit in my toolbox.

Jumping with joy an gushing of praise,
Erik Tinberg

I'm just wondering when the next version is coming out as I assume it will be even better... :) I can wait a few months, but I'm really drooling. I often wonder just how hard it would be to implement other scales and custom scales. I guess it will be pretty hard, this awesome tool must have a great deal of complex coding behind it.

Whatever it is, though, ChordSpace is probably the best tool that I have ever come across. And I've been into computer music for years.

It looks like you've been able to get ChordSpace DO to work in Sonar. Please tell me how to insert it, and how to set up the related MIDI and audio track ins and outs. Isn't Chordspace essentially a software MIDI controller, and if so, is it a VST effect, VSTi instrument, or MIDI effect?
Thanks for your help,
Brubart

You need to use a software MIDI loopback program, route MIDI out of ChordSpace into the loopback IN, and then into a new track in Sonar set to receive from the loopback OUT. Make sure Sonar is set up to ignore the loopback IN itself.

Hey Nuffink CS is awesome!

:D

1. Many midi plugins made in SE seem to not function at all in Live, yet ChordSpace does.Any ideas why?

2. Any chance of adding strumming?

Thanks! :D

I'm not sure this has been requested i assumed in 22 pages surely but ill take a chance...
It would be VERY cool to have a little keyboard on the gui just for highlighting the chords heard for the moment...would be handy to see what are the chords on the keyboard for people like myself who doesnt know much about theory....

Thanks very much, whyterabbyt. Where can I get a MIDI loopback program? Or can I just plug my MIDI cable out to MIDI cable in? Should I insert ChordSpace as a VST effect or VSTi instrument in an audio track? Or is there a way to insert it in a MIDI track?

There's also LoopBe1

If somebody could write up and post an idiots guide to setting-up ChordSpace in Sonar I'd be most grateful.

Nice idea! I'm sure there must be a VST out there already which can read a MIDI stream and show you the chord - you could just chain it after Chordspace (I'm using eXT as my main host - the possibilities with Chordspace and eXT are endless and easy to implement!).

Maybe use TobyBear's Mini-host. Doesn't it come with an onscreen keyboard?

I would like to play chosen hexes on midi keyboard. Is there any easy way to find out the hex number and choose it in the "Hex #" column on the right? Or it is a hit and miss method?
