I went the same route, however I learned of the adobe buy out about a month before because I called after a crash and needed my code...I asked about updating to ce pro, that's when he said wait a month...but he seemed pretty happy about what would be his new employer...syntrillium was stand up, but tbh I have never heard too many negative things about adobe, and tbh we can't speculate what syntrillium would of done about protection...maybe no changesAll that much more sad because I came from Cool Edit 2000, well, back in 2000! Syntrillum was a stand up company. Wonder what they think?
but we don't know...and tbh I don't even know if ce pro needed anything more than the serial number...I do know ce2k was a 50 dollar program, so there's too many variables to even guess.
