SX eq vs Waves Renaissance...

right lets hit this on the head .

people with sx's Q (sx2 upward) and waves ren try this.

-get some material you like testing eqs on.
-set up a fairly big boost with waves ren, and phase reverse that track (switch at top of each mixer channel)
-make another track with the same source material and insert sx's Q, duplicate all the settings exactly the same as waves ren (you can type values in for freq and boost) except bandwidth.
-now with both tracks playing, fine tune (hold shift) bandwidth on Q till it cancels with waves ren as far as it can.
-then unphase reverse waves ren track (<< important >> transients can sound different phase reversed)

solo each track and a/b between. whats the difference please?

Don't have SX, but I can try this with Logic. What are we supposed to hear? Are you hypothesising that the SX EQ is identical sounding to the Waves, or what?

Hi Martian! Of course there's no discernable difference. But that's one of the secrets those fatcats on Wall Street (and their henchmen - the KVR BS-Boys) don't want you to know about. Your music sounds nice, btw, so why worry?
