i think my posts in this thread already were quite explicit, but as you asked directly... i have and like it a lot ;)
Ah, misinterpretation.
That was a statement -- see, no question mark? -- or a footnote meaning that I, the terpsichorean and funky chicken, own the aforesaid LiveSlice, and think it is absolutely perfect for what I use it for (randomizing looped WAVs).

It's not only perfect, it's sensibly priced too.

ups, you're right.. and i even don't have the excuse that english is not my native language ;) - question mark missing = no question ;)

I love/own LiveSlice as well!...but I love and own several great manglers! While some of their abilities may overlap- most of them have an "area" they're best suited for...and you can never have too many tools!
LS, LiveCut, Suppatrigga, dblue's Glitch, Lucipher(which I'll be buying soon 8)), instajungle...mix and match'em...run'em series/parallel...wind'em up and watch'em spin
you get the picture
(- and that's not even mentioning the myriad of tools available to ya if you have reaktor!)
...who know- someday, I might even get around to throwing the money into RMX, but I'll be busy 'til then!

Yeah and throw Metallurgy on top of it all (which I havent bought yet either), and it's like Amon Tobin in a box!

...or you could just be sillllly
this is the result of too much coffee, LiveSlice, drumulator, minion and 15mins of free time (oh yeah- source material for LS from extremely cool online speech synth)
this may not be the best demo of what can be done with LiveSlice and really NO effort...and too much coffee :P

Post

wow that sounds really cool. just 15 minutes? i'd be curious to see you doing that in a video but i think that's pushing it. which AT & T droid is that? Reiner?

dblue works great for slicing fruit
your signature is really anoying ...

:D Alberto!
That's one of the things that's really cool about AT&T's online speech synth- there are personas set up to speak native languages, but nothing says you can't manipulate the spelling to get the sound or phrasiology you want :) ...nerdy geek fun? yeah. i'm a nerdy geek :hihi:

:-o :-o
don't know how I could have missed that!
love the cover art too!

Actually I really use Metallurgy on almost every drum loop in ACID, and it sounds different with every instance.

This plug-in is f**king awesome. it's all you need for what you want.

LiveSlice sucks. Suppatrigga is nice but is really really buggy.
My bad... I meant to say LiveCut (Beta), NOT LiveSlice. My apologies to the developer

I can't comment on LiveSlice either way, i've never used it.

Hey
about 8 years ago some guy wrote a standalone 16-step beat slicer / step sequencer & charged far too much money for it. He had sliders under each step in the sequencer to pick which 16th note of an audio loop would play in that step.

I've been looking at Glitch and it's similar, but has anyone written a free VSTi version?

I realize I could do something similar in Phatmatik Pro, but I'm looking for something a bit more simple, and free. And I don't need to effect each loop individually. Kind of like old school mapping of vinyl loops onto an AKAI sampler.

Hi drk_sum,
Out of this list your best bets for free are probably steps, pseudograins, and traks. I've not yet messed about with arcdev's H4xx0r...If you're in a paying mood, I'd suggest Lucipher2 and LiveSlice 8)
