What's new:

- Same great sound as version 0.5, half the file size.
- Automation is fixed
- MIDI CC control added as well as joystick. That's right, I said joystick! :o
- HALFPOWER setting for systems with slower CPUs
- Number of channels configurable from 1 to 6

These new features are all accessible through a configuration file, NaiveLPF.ini, which it creates automatically in the vstplugins folder. Edit this file to set up MIDI or joystick controller assignments, change the maximum number of channels, or reduce the audio quality.

Now, just to drive you all crazy... check out what's coming very soon. NaiveLPF's got a big brother...

Those GUIs are really fancy renderings, but they are soooo hard to read. You might want to consider making two versions, one "3d" and one "clean".

They're actually bigger than the image you see here, so it shouldn't be too hard to read when plugged in.

Unnecessarily big then? :)

Thanks for the update, your site is so slow though its impossible to download :?

Post

Yeah. you're right Holo, I'm seeing a lot of started downloads and hardly any finished ones in my web log.

It's a poor connection from my current ISP. I've got to locate this site somewhere better. But that's going to take some $ that I don't have this week.

Try the file again later, there's a big rush for it right now. I'm going to look into moving this site ASAP, will keep you all posted.

I really like the sound of this (nice saturation effect) but the CPU load at 96 KHz is monumental. I've also had what seems to be a bug with the last version where the CPU bar surges when the plug is loaded and comes back down if you switch it to 6 or 12 db slopes. It then stays more consistent if you come back up to 24 or 48 db, without surging. This is in Tracktion 2.
Here is my small version:

Thanks for the report Frip.

You can try the HALFPOWER mode if you're short on CPU, but I don't really recommend it. See the .ini file.

The last version had a denormal problem that (for me) would manifest whenever I put the cutoff frequency to zero. That's fixed now so I think your spikes might be as well. I haven't tested in Traction I'm afraid, I'll look into that one.

It runs OK at 96 kHz on my system, but it does use a fair bit of processing power compared to some less exciting sounding filters. It's a trade off, this is by design an expensive effect in terms of the processing power required.

So, some of you are actually getting the file OK? My log indicates that nobody's actually completed a download (except me) but several of you have obviously tried it already. Maybe I need to check my web scripts...?

And apologies to anyone who's had broken downloads today but I'm messing with that web server so it's going up and down a lot today.

No 'NaiveLPF.ini' file on my harddisk...

Cheers,

Really? You've run your host once with NaiveLPF.dll in your vstplugins directory?

The ini file should be created in the same directory as you put NaiveLPF.dll in, the first time its loaded into the host (usually at host launch time).

Is it working for you? Are you able to use it anyway?

One more thing to check: have you removed any previous versions of NaiveLPF? They might conflict. This version does everything version 0.5 did, so there's no reason to keep both.

One more question: what host/version are you using?

Thanks!

Beautiful GUI. Dont change it. I agree that from the picture posted here..its abit hard to read, but if you say that the plugin itself looks better and bigger then pic here, then its great.
Absolutly beautiful work, i like it when it looks like a real gear
hihi :P

BTW - It really reminds me the capability of Logic's auto-filter !!! Ive always wished that something like autofilter will come out as VST for all of us...
WOW :D

Keep up the good job..

Cheers,
Gary
