Well, if the GUI interferes with the plugin's usability... it definitely becomes an important factor.dover666 wrote:i'm sick of gui complaints... it's the guts that matter....

thanks, john.. I certainly agree.... i think things should be clearly labeled or at least tooltipped, to the extent of - a lot of this... careful with this etc... but i don't feel comfortable with sketchy overlays or non-slider/knob type graphical effects... i guess the goal with most of them is that they can be strapped to a midi controller or a joystick and tweaked that way... but having them usable with a mouse will always take precedent.. so the more "gooey" the gui gets, the less utility, or at least that's my concern... anyway.... what's done so far... the sliders are painted, the "frosted black formica" background is done.... I've got to do text next... the sliders were pretty fun to brush, made a brush tool in gimp, then scrubbed the fcukers... so they are actually brushed... albeit virtually, but indeed they are "brushed steel sliders".... now we need a name... any quick font links anyone?

thanks y'all.. still need to name her... i'm thinking something spooky, but i think that's just from the look of the thing. it looks a lot like a tombstone... i've been having fun completely rearanging drumbeats with it.... hmmm.... almost ready to text the background, and compile it. not bad for an afternoon, eh?

You know the term "Pushing up Daisies"?

It's also kind of meant to be a bit of a pun on SquarePusher.push up daisies Slang.
To be dead and buried: a cemetery of heroes pushing up daisies.

yeah, well for me it's also become an adjective for people who openly display the junkie character traits... ie... not rolling the window down while smoking in a car - being a skag. and also a person who seems "already dead".... hence use for the plugin... send me some more name ideas - votes for daisypusher perhaps... i'm starting to like it more and more..Reverse Engineer wrote:SkagThat's a pseudonym for Heroin here
