Thanks arke but I was actually being sarcistic with the crying smiley. Quite frankly I could really give a toss about what stag thinks.arke wrote:Don't worry, I still love youJohn Vulich wrote:stag wrote:Well Vulich i don´t like you either... no offence, it´s what it is.![]()

Oh holy hell. You know, I make that mistake, like, once a year. Oh well, that's what I get for opening my mouth. At least I spelled "Lobotnomonmny" correctly.Penis Arcade wrote:Some of us will be better served by avoiding listing theirs.bduffy wrote: I do wish everyone would list they're country, so we know whether we're dealing with the language barrier.
Still, I think with an international community like this, it would be really helpful to know if someone is struggling with a language.

Great job, arke, you took that from the Merriam Webster online definition of "lobotomy".arke wrote:G-Ro124 wrote:lotobotomy is not what you think it is, you prick. when you say anything at all, that sounds like how a lomotomized person would say that. I suggest you say it different, as this way it makes you sound lobotomized.

lo·bot·o·my (l-bt-m, l-)
n. pl. lo·bot·o·mies
Surgical incision into the frontal lobe of the brain to sever one or more nerve tracts, a technique formerly used to treat certain mental disorders but now rarely performed.
lo·bot·o·mize (l-bt-mz, l-)
tr.v. lo·bot·o·mized, lo·bot·o·miz·ing, lo·bot·o·miz·es
To perform a lobotomy on (a patient).
Don't doubt my f**king english skills, bitch
Now I am wondering, why would you use "lobotomy"?? If someone is "lobotomized", then it just means that their personality will undergo great changes (look here for more information on lobotomies).
As this way makes me sound like I have changed personality?? That's not a diss at all, just shows that you do not know what lobotomy is and that you are trying to be arrogant by using a "complicated" word, instead of just saying "retarded", which I think is your goal.arke wrote:as this way it makes you sound lobotomized
Why don't you stick to simple words now that you've shown you can't master the big ones, eh Arke??

Dunno if anyone has answered this yet, but here's the most efficient (and cleanest) way of doing it.funkychickendance wrote:Several folks have said this over the past couple of months in various threads here. And, looking at my long boot-up times, I'm sure they're on to something.Reverse Engineer wrote:If you wanna stabilise (more) version 5, don't use the media manager, uninstall it completely and uninstall the mysql database that goes along with it (that's what i do e very reinstall......no, the reinstalls aren't acid related, i'm talking about after a format.) It boots up in seconds and doesn't do any mental freezing/crashing unless it gets a bad plug stuck in its teeth.

Um, how would one go about removing the media manager -- for which I have never found one single use!

)?

'on an efficiency kick'
1) Start Acid, go to options/preferences/general, look down the list and untick enable media manager. Close acid.
2) Open add/remove in control panel, uninstall media manger 2.0 first, THEN uninstall the mysql database (if you have more than one mysql... related to other apps, don't worry, there's a mention of sony somewhere in the add/remove entry for then one you want to remove.)
3) Reboot your computer (just a precautionary measure.) Then restart acid....voila.
Another Acid tip is this : If you have any plugins listed that you no longer have installed (legacy entries left over) or some plugs don't seem to be getting detected but are installed properly then do this, it'll force a complete rescan of installed plugins which will remove any bad entries and add the ones that couldn't be detected before.
With Acid closed, open the run box on the start menu, type regedit, and navigate to this key -
Code: Select all
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sony Media Software\ACID Pro\5.0\Metrics\VSTi Synth-

that should speed up your launch times.

This is a big improvement, other than the real audio input interface...They may get me back too. If they kill the bugs first.
All MIDI
note and controller data can be recorded and edited directly in the timeline
for maximum productivity.

Oh, totally excellent!Reverse Engineer wrote:Dunno if anyone has answered this yet, but here's the most efficient (and cleanest) way of doing it....
The real eye-opener was your #3 et seq....I wasted a couple of days asking the Sony people how to have the VST folder update itself. Because, as you guessed, like any proper KvR loony, I'm forever adding new ones, removing old ones, etc., and the damned thing was quite erroneous. Their answer, BTW, was essentially to reinstall.
Your answer here is intuitively right, gonna do it in the AM when I'm more attentive to detail.
Thanks a bunch!

ps: you don't know how to get ACID to recognize a QUERTY keyboard as a MIDI input device, by any chance? I think this one may be ultra vires...

One of the other things that really bothered me about Acid was "left over" audio recordings.
Let's say you define the folder where you want your recorded audio to go. You then start recording. Of course there will be be stuffed up takes, perhaps some intro "overmatter" when doing a punch-in style take.
Eventually you finish the song.
But what you now have leftover is masses of audio takes, all with numerical names (recording take 1, 2, 3 etc), and no way to identify whether they are part of the finished song, or just mistakes.
So when you hit "save all media with song" you get all the crap too.
I believe Live has a function where it just gathers material that is actually used.
Does AcidPro-6 solve this problem I wonder ?

i don´t know if on Acid we can route a VSTi as an input
on a MIDI track.
the more i read about AP6 the more i wanna try it out.
