Each screenshot one sees is completely different - the program is so configurable. I've posted my multitrack workspace on the Adobe forum at http://tinyurl.com/bp2s9 FWIW.

Just tried it with Reason rewired into it. Things I noticed were mostly negative...

1. Graphics in the program are very slow
2. Even though I selected my ASIO driver, I was getting shocking latencies with Audition, maybe doing something wrong...
3. Reason routing isn't powerful at all, its 1 stereo channel, 62 mono ones, no way to combine 2 mono channels
4. I got an error during installation which seemed to be incomplete, yet the program does work ... wierd

The good points..

1. Gorgeous GUI and mixer
2. Many enhancements made to GUI which make it easier to use

Please give us your opinions on the demo too

I've been checking out the demo as well and I haven't had any problems with latency . I agree the GUI beautiful especially in edit mode but the graphics are very slow when changing workspaces .There doesn't seem to be a way to do cycle recording from what I can tell or use a metronome count in. There are no track folders which would be a problem when working with large projects .When I try to access the help files and keyboard shortcuts nothing happens . It won't make me change from Samplitude due to the above issues and also the lack of midi support but it shows great promise .

tbh I'm going to order it soon as I said, and really this one time I have no problem going into it blind. I bought Sonar 5 studio last fall and have been trying to decide if I should upgrade AA, Sonar to producer, or both...with both being under 350 bux that was really looking likely. But then cakewalk announced the power studio to come out in April with an edirol firewire card....I'll wait and see if I can get a cool bundle...that makes AA upgrade a no brainer for me...

Did you look under 'options' to access the metronome?
Anyone having problems with FL Studio rewired in AA 2?

I found the metronome options without a problem but there didn't seem to be any count in options

Does anyone know if Adobe Audition 2 supposts listen to ( previewing ) a chain of VsT effects without actualy applying it to the audio file?

Kind of like wavelab's screenshots thingy that is on the right where you insert the effects ( or so I have been told )

hink, can you please point how to do it. I have been trying unsecssefully with the demo of 2.0 I downloaded. I only seem to be able to preview only one effect at a time.

I think I didn't understand you, I thought you meant realtime, now I see you are talking about in the edit view window, and no there it's one effect at a time....however you make a rack in multitrack view and tweak until you have everything the way you save it as a preset and then apply the fx in the samo order in the edit view...I haven't tried that, but it seems logical...

Trying to pick up on some of the points above in brief ...

Cycle recording - right click on the record button (right click on all the transport buttons for various other options). You can cycle punch too.

Metronome count in - not understood - just start after however many metronome beats you fancy?

Keyboard shortcuts and help files - presumably these are not present in the demo only (which seems odd I admit, especially the lack of help) - certainly they are present in the full version.

In multitrack view you can preview a chain of effects in the effects rack either when monitoring before recording (the track must be record-enabled, there is no separate monitor button) or when playing back - multitrack view is non-destructive at all times anyway. There is no way to simultaneously record and apply effects at the same time but that's virtually never a good idea, of course.

In edit view there is a new mastering rack which enables you to build up a chain of effects, preview them, and then if you wish apply them destructively in one pass to the file. Previous versions allowed only one effect at a time in edit view.

Ozpeter, I think you misunderstood. I am only editing a WAV file. I am not recording anything. Like Wavelab, you have the "plugins chainer" on the right side. You can add plugins, and preview their effects on your sound BEFORE applying them to the file itself.
