In multitrack view you can preview a chain of effects in the effects rack either when monitoring before recording (the track must be record-enabled, there is no separate monitor button) or when playing back - multitrack view is non-destructive at all times anyway. There is no way to simultaneously record and apply effects at the same time but that's virtually never a good idea, of course.
Ozpeter, I think you misunderstood. I am only editing a WAV file. I am not recording anything. Like Wavelab, you have the "plugins chainer" on the right side. You can add plugins, and preview their effects on your sound BEFORE applying them to the file itself.
In edit view there is a new mastering rack which enables you to build up a chain of effects, preview them, and then if you wish apply them destructively in one pass to the file. Previous versions allowed only one effect at a time in edit view.
Oh! Can you please point how to use it? I seem unable to. Thanks.
yes and he said it edit view use the new mastering rack....however you can use just one wave in the multi track view if you like...;)

I saw the mastering rack, but the darn thing does not seem to support VST plugins!! Only DX!

EYECANDY...which is why I have to try it as well.
Black text on a white canvas, do racist people close their eyes when they read a book?

Ouch...I know why it does not support VST. I chose to refresh the plugin list "VST", but mid way through, the application just quits! without any warning!

Post

very flaky...Is there a way to know which plugins are causing the error so I don;t enable them?

does it quit, or just sit there for a while....for me it goes to 98% done then can take as long as 5 minutes

nah, it just quits...weird. Now I have to check the plugins one by one and see which one is causing the error.

When that happens it should pop up the VST selection facility - see http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/330271.html for details.

To deselect a plug-in that caused Adobe Audition to freeze during startup:

1. Note the name of the last plug-in that Adobe Audition scanned.
The problem is tha the program exists, so I am not able to note the name of the plugin.

Post

Alternative strategy (which I use) is not to have the program point to the standard VST folder but to an Audition-specific one. Copy plugins into that - maybe concentrating on the ones you really actually use, and say ten at a time if you use a lot.

Thanks for the idea.

so far I know of a few plugs it doesn't like....
Morphing Delay
Minion
RetroDelay

perhaps we should start a thread on "Plugs that give Audition 2.0 a booboo" :)

Meanwhile I'm a little bummed that I cant send pitchbend from my Remote25 sliders (only the joystick), therefore I'll need a different control surface with "mackie emulation" to control mixer faders/volume automation on tracks (from what I have pieced together from various threads).

http://tinyurl.com/am5v7 takes you to an Adobe forum thread where I posted a list of plugins that I'm currently using - I'm pretty sure that's the set I use with the new version (FWIW).

Suprised you have Luxonix LFX1310 working, last time I tried it in AA 1.5 blew a gasket & (honestly) other than splitting the preset info to an xml, I dont see much improvement in the efficiency of how preset info for vsts is stored. (I am glad it is thrown in to an xml however...are the plugs still entered into the registry?)
Is there still no fxb/fxp support? this format is the standard for plugs & seems to take up alot less room than the method Adobe is employing.
i should prolly throw my 2 cents on the Adobe forums as well....
