I am considering other payment methods for the future but right now PayPal is the most convenient and preferred method for me. Using their API in my own code was a piece of cake, too, so that was an important factor for me.
Certainly you can search on Google for the typical horror stories associated with PayPal, but if you're actually looking for them you can find stories about pretty much any payment system out there I think. Everything is prone to a bit of bad luck at some point in time. Bugs or loopholes in code are gradually patched up. Etc.
Personally I've never had a single bad experience with PayPal in all the years I've been using it (since 1999). I believe it was probably a bit rough around the edges a few years ago, but it has grown into a very secure and stable system.
You don't need an account anymore either. The option to make a one time payment with a credit card is now available and shows up on the payment form as "Secure Checkout".
Anyway, just wanted to clear that up for you. I think PayPal is pretty nifty and I find myself using it fairly often for things like making quick donations on websites.
As for the MIDI control over my Glitch plugin, not everything can be controlled but pretty much all of the important stuff you'd expect can be. I have to admit that the MIDI CC assignments are a bit of a mess though, as the functionality wasn't planned out very well and was kind of added in later as an afterthought. In the next version I will plan it out better and add some obvious things such as a MIDI learn function.

dblue, that Glitch plugin of yours looks very interesting.
Any chance for a OSX version?

I don't think there's anything wrong with Paypal if i'm buying from a trustworthy developer. it probably can get bad if one of the two parties are theives which in your case Kingston I don't think you have anything to worry about!
without paypal a lot of people would have no way of doing business quickly.

Guess I'll do a test then. If it works as expected I'll start using it more regularly.
It isn't thieves I'm worried about, it's paypal itself, with all these horrors stories and legends I keep hearing about them keeping the users money etc.

I use Delphi right now and I'm currently in the slow process of rewriting all the code to make it more structured and sensible. When that's done it shouldn't be too hard for someone who knows both Delphi and C++ (who I will try to track down) to port it over to C++ and make a version for Mac. Of course this is all speculation at this point.meister eder wrote:Any chance for a OSX version?
Bottom line is, there is a good chance that a Mac version will appear, but don't expect it anytime soon.

this is a bump from a seriously impressed dblue Glitch user. I love this plugin to bits, there's nothing like it i've ever seen. amazing, inspiring work.
Heizenbox and livecut are my other glitch plugins, along with one that no-one's mentioned - ioplong Slifty. I LOVE
that thing. Not 100% pure glitch persay, but drop in a couple of samples and mess with them, and IMHO you can glitch yourself crazy with that little gem.
BRILLIANCE! Thanks to these developers for doing something really unique, with a very large COOL and FUN factor

Right, but I've got to hand it to them I've done many purchases with their system and i've never had one problem. I've also done a lot of plugin purchases with ShareIT that also works fairly well.Kingston wrote:Guess I'll do a test then. If it works as expected I'll start using it more regularly.

added them. thanks. whew. that's a lot of glitch already. keep them coming. I wonder how I should sort that thing out as it looks a bit messy. Anyone care to give it a try?

Very much just standard 'gating', but nifty in its own minimalist way is BetabugsAudio's GetaBlitch Jr.
