Understood. NAMM can be all-consuming, so I hope it goes well for you. I have no personal use for SampleTank conversions, but I'll look forward to your response to my email and PM as well. Best of luck to you at the show.

announcements of the new esc 3.0 and a new sampler vsti are up on the esc site, so there are signs of life.
just to add i've owned esc for a long time with no problems and plenty of updates

Well I'm glad to see version3.0 is still in the works.

I'm all over it when it comes out.

Does anyone else find it pretty incredulous that Mr. Chick would jump into a thread on a competitors forum and start expounding on the virtues of his own product?

That would be like the Steinberg people going over to the Cakewalk forums and telling everybody to change sequencers because theirs is better.

Bad form Mr. Chick!!!

I do. However, it does not surprise me at all.

Personally, I don't believe a word he says. If this were his forum (it's not :-o ), he'd be deleting threads/posts to suit his fancy. I guess the next best thing is hijacking threads that mention any competitor's products. I believe he's the only one on this board that does it.

The real bad, is in his software.

The GUI looks awesome and it appears that they've added quite a few more new samples! :D

Tempted to post the ESC announcement on the Chicksys forum but I don't wanna get banned from the rest of NS

Is this a competitors forum? I thought it was the Samples, Sampling, and Sample Libraries. (You guys really have a problem with facts.) I simply entered a thread that people were concerned that that site was non-responsive.

I'm interested in addressing peoples needs, not beating a competitors product. Perhaps you guys are invoking your values upon mine; I don't think that way at all. I simply pointed out that if you need a certain conversion, you don't have to wait for it if you don't want to. There's many people reading this thread, not posting, that may be interested in that. If you do want to wait, fine - your choice, free market.

Oh well.

Excellent news :hyper:

That sampler VSTi looks interesting as well, maybe a nice contender to the forthcoming GVI :-o

Actually, Chicken-man, it's you that has the problem in posing his own opinions as facts, then claiming that other people have a problem for not accepting them.

chickeneps wrote: You can get everything you want in Translator now. Why wait?

BTW, the approach is the same in both programs - click the button to translate.

The Translator is much more flexible - you can see inside SampleTank files, it's not limited to lists, you can customize it and on and on.

There's tons of extra features,
You're an outright liar! :x

No, I think you misunderstood. The context was that people were frustrated that they couldn't get a hold of the ESC guy or buy the program. I was suggesting an alternative, and actually one that I thought was even more advantageous. I then stated a couple features that demonstrated this. To me, whether it's my company's product or not is irrelevant.

Nothing wrong with dispensing information, I hope.

If you think I'm lying about whether Translator has lots of features or not, well, you can see for yourself. Let me list several:

-Available Now
-Windows and Mac
-Converts to SampleTank 2 and 1 quickly and accurately
-Write your own Tank Names and effects into programs, such as reverb, chorus, distortion, any of the 4 ST effects processors
-Dialog windows allow parameter comprimises since ST is a limited format
-Spec written with official blessing and documentation from IK
-Bulk Editor allows sweeping changes over many ST files
-Heirarchial list allows you to see the structure of the files, and allows small changes if desired
-Special Adjust Tune/Pan/Volume settings allow incoming formats to fit the limited ST format much easier
-Accurate conversions resulting from processing and examining over 4000 Sonic Reality instruments
-Over 40 different input formats

So...

Since ESC is still AOL at the moment, perhaps this would be of interest to some people. (Even if it wasn't AOL, I think it would be interesting.) If not, again, that's fine. Nothing wrong with giving out information, I hope.

I am not offended or find it THAT incredulous that chickeneps talks about his product when the topic of conversation is about a competitor's product.

That being said, I do find it a bit annoying. You mentioned that your product is great. Fine. Then you continue to do it again. Annoying.

I heard you the first time.

It's a bit like when I was in grade school. There was always that kid who had a great deal of knowledge (or was just starved for attention) and when the teacher asked a question, his arm shot up. "Oooohhh... Oohhh... Pick me. Pick me. I know the answer." When the teacher ignores him, he just can't help himself, and blurts out the answer. The last time I checked, the rest of us kicked his ass at recess."

Yeah, it wasn't officially supported that long ago, thus the errors. We've brought it up to speed, although it's just short of official release though. Try it.
