i have some more suggestions: how about a velocity multiplier for each track? a knob from 0...1 which can be controlled via midi. you could possibly do the same for note variation on each wall. what do you think

I have yet to be able to download completely. What should I do, it constantly downloads only a partial file.

Great Plug-in!
Instead of just a square room, it would be cool to have an infinite amount of room shapes to choose for the balls to bounce around in. If you have a weird shape where the balls actually get's stuck or stops moving that's fine too. Maybe instead of having the balls just go at a constant rate, it might be cool to have the option of having them work like real balls, their energy being halved or fourthed everytime they hit something, when the velocity stops then a new ball starts again etc. Lot's of things could be added, lot's of room to grow, but it's also very cool how it is now.

Could you explain in a little more detail perhaps?outsomnia20 wrote:i have some more suggestions: how about a velocity multiplier for each track? a knob from 0...1 which can be controlled via midi. you could possibly do the same for note variation on each wall. what do you think

I've had lots of ideas like this myself. When I first started writing this thing many years ago (it started out as a regular application - and has underwent many refinements over the years) it was much more complex. The idea was to have several rooms inside the rectangle, forming a type of labyrinth, where some balls could get through certain walls and be reflected by other walls. I also thought of having a morphing facility where you could morph between different room shapes. In the end though, through lots of experimentation, I found out that a simpler version would be just as effective - more effective in fact. To put it short: increasing the complexity of the plugin did not increase the complexity of the output.toine6 wrote: Instead of just a square room, it would be cool to have an infinite amount of room shapes to choose for the balls to bounce around in. I'm sure other people could take this in another direction and make it work though, but for me, I'm happy with it like it is now (except for smaller refinements of course).

This is a wonderful plugin Carrier Down and I've had a lot of fun playing with it. Maybe an alternative title could be " Having A Ball "
Thanks for this very creative piece of work

with a velocity multiplier (which is more of a divider) you could turn down the velocity of each ball as they hit the wall. so if a ball has a velocity of 64 when it hits wall A and the velocity multiplier was 0.5, wall A would become 32. if wall b had 48 it would become 24 etc... the same idea can applied to the wall's pitch for each ball. master control of every ball's velocity and pitch would be great too.carrier down wrote:Could you explain in a little more detail perhaps?outsomnia20 wrote:i have some more suggestions: how about a velocity multiplier for each track? a knob from 0...1 which can be controlled via midi. you could possibly do the same for note variation on each wall. what do you think

this plug is so much fun
i'd really like to see some kind of sync to the host like my idea of factors/dividers in the global tempo and the ball's horizontal/vertical speeds to get it even more usable with rhythmic content.

Very nice plugin. I have a few suggestions...
The ability to type numbers into the parameters would be helpful. The Note Length parameter takes a good bit of time to change as is stands right now.
It would be nice to have longer Note Lengths available. This would help a lot for ambient pad type sounds.
It would also be nice to also have a Sync option for the Note Length like many Delay FX do.
A larger room size and/or more and slower Speed settings would also help with ambient passages.
Cool work. I look forward to seeing how this plugin develops.

Let me see if i have the connections correct here. Within EXTs sequencer, i assign a VST-i to a midi track. Then i assign the outputs of this VST-i to the Ball Sequencer ins and then press play on the sequencer.
Is this correct?

this is a midi plugin, so you have to connect it's midi-out to the midi-in of the VSTi you want to use. for using it in eXT's sequencer i just inserted a eXT-VSTi to a midi-track, put the ballseq in the main of it and connected it to the VSTi of my choice.

i had it working with odo's purple v1.1 flawlessly, some other VSTi didn't work right (mda piano didn't play all notes but made some soundsFormer Pharaoh wrote:But i had originally connected the midi out of BS to the midi in of my synth in the main window and it wasn't working. I FINALLY found ONE synth that works (Foxglove). My other synths are not working (Polyiblit, Triangle2, MDA piano, Purple...bunch of other freebies).
well, could be a good idea to install a fresh system as you have quite some oddities on your DAW.
