Hey, you've tried "elektroloops 2", have you ? I did most of these by taking african drum loops and re-programming them with Rhino envelopes, often using nasty metallic timbres to replace the conventional instrument sounds.

Cool. I must look at that again...and try the idea with some patterns of my own too.

Edit: And I did take a look. Yes, some quite nice rhythmic loops here. Thanks for the reminder!

Obviously, percussion is an important element in getting to what I was alluding to, but I'd also appreciate some Rhino twists on flutes, shenahai, and other wind instruments (excluding Improv, of course  ). And as 'eatnatives' says below, it would be very neat to have some 'mood inducing' rather than 'sample emulating' Rhino presets. :)

Although I'd love to hear Rhino takes on sitar, sarod, koto and other eastern instruments, come to think of it.

Daniel was not apologizing nor was I expecting an apology. Daniel even mentioned that it was a good question.

I merely explained my opinion of the last two sets and why I didn't purchase them. You will allow me the privilege of having my own opinion? Thanks ever so much.

After buying the previous 12 sets by Daniel I was hoping that he would be going back to creating the great presets that he had before Azul and Trancemissions.

Just my 2 cents, please DO excuse me for having my own thoughts on the matter.

Looking forward to it, that's what I was hoping for! :-)

No offense was taken by either comment. It would be unrealistic of me to expect everyone to like everything released. Some people had asked for a Trancemissions type bank and they got it. People had requested Oberheim banks and got them, also.

The point of this thread is to get your input so you can get your favorite flavor. Rhino users seem to like the Classic Analog series; the Oberheim series is still my best seller. Deep pads are popular, also. And everybody needs BnB type sounds so expect some more of those in the future. Anything else?

Whatever, windbag.

Isn't this mute button great?

I vote for a bank that is world ethnic-y, but maybe don't go strictly for instrument realism (a sampler can do that)... ethnic atmospheres. Something rich, pads and leads which remind you of Africa, Far East, Middle East, desert nights, bazaars, etc.

Tsk tsk, I see school is out today. :P

Regardless, I liked what I heard and bought it! I think I own almost all of Daniels banks except Azul and the VL stuff, which (at least right now) I can't find a place for in my music...

Thanks for making these Daniel, I can't afford another synth right now (lol) but your banks make the Rhino better and better! :hihi: :D

Daniel, I'm dying to get the Oberheim series. But I want them all. :D Any chance you'd offer up a big combo pack of Oberheim, VL and Digital Synth series? I know you can only have so many choices... but one can dream. :)

I second the idea of a ethnic/Far East pack!! But like eatnatives said, not just dry samples, more synthetic and layered.

Post

The Oberheim series and VL series are already bundled into nice packages. The DS series will be getting two more banks before it's bundled; no release date is available on that last one at this time.

I already have been talking with someone about getting help for an ethnic bank; he plays about a dozen different instruments. When something solid develops I'll drop everyone a line.

----I think Daniel makes great patches, and has a great variety up for offer, and as we all know, ya can't please all the K-v-R crowd all the time. I think Daniel should make whatever works best for him, keep sorting them "theme"-wise, and keep going until he's just tired of doing it.
----As far as packages, I'd maybe suggest a "build your own", like buy 3 get one free pricing, or something along those lines, then no one can complain about the package they want not being available anymore ever :)

An good and interesting suggestion. However, ShareIt is not a very flexible way of doing this.

If you have a special bundle request, it could be quickly done thru my PayPal account. Tell me what you want and I'll price it similarly to the existing bundles with your substitutions. Write me at djsmaurer@charter.net with a list of what you want.

I have enjoyed all of Daniels banks - I'm not sure I'll be buying the Transmissions but I'm sure someone will love it. My vote for a bank would be a Joe Zawinul set. Solo sounds and pads from the master of synth sounds.

Post

i've bought em all up to Azul and Trancemissions

can't please everyone all the time and I don't require that daniel please me every time out. still a big fan of his work. one of the best sound designers out there, esp in his ability to expose useful parameters to those slider controls

looking forward to the next bank
in the meantime, let me mention how much i'm enjoying rediscovering the additive bank
ok ok, not a daniel bank
i put it out there as a suggestion to explore
