i need to sound like different people. its for a personal project where it is hard to ask lots of different people to help to get the right voice.

is there any software which enables this? like a tc helicon, which can change sex, age etc.. ? add a bluesy throaty smokers gravel, or castrate me enough to sound like one of the females?

any info on this at all? like for a girl, is just pitching up enough or is there anything else i can try?

i already have some ideas on how to go about this, but it would be nice if there is a package already made out there :)

many thanks

Antares Avox might do the trick....
Play what you feel and feel what you play.

Pitching up or down won't work by itself. You also need to shift formants to emulate smaller or larger head and throat and whatnot. Without that it sounds... weird.

Akai Pro's DecaBuddy can do a fair job of it. You have to give it the right input but when it works it sounds very good. It's hard to find though, discontinued I think.

Mayba a kick in the nuts?
Hey, it's for the art; you have to be willing to make some sacrifices, after all :)

You might like to give 'Elevayta Choir Boy' a try. But then I would say that wouldn't I.

melodyne will do the job

melodyne, rephrase, clone ensemble all allow u to change formant independent of pitch....with varying results but works. AVOX has supposedly a sophisticated throat modeler....but i havent seen results yet that match with all the science and research that supposedly is in it......good luck

I agree - it's probably the most overrated piece of software that I have ever tried.

I didn't say that, I said it wont do what he wants...I haven't posted any songs yet with avox, but I would have if my father didn't fall, it would of been done pre-xmas, now for personal reasons the song will be posted on feb 1st. I wrote the song for my sisters service (feb 1st wa her b-day) when she passed in 2002, I have re-done most parts, but took the original dry vocals from my old hard disk recorder, the A/B is amazing....used on the vox was auto tune, throat and voxformer...like any dsp, you need to know what you are doing with it....throat when used properly is stunning, but like a comp, when used improperly it sounds like crap...

I was going to say chior boy as well, but in between my son called and then my daughter came home...but yes choir boy is awesome...:)

Hmmm, maybe I should give Avox another go if I get the chance. I spent quite a bit of time trying to alter voices with it, but just couldn't seem to change the sound enought to make it sound natural enough. Good to hear that it is possible to do something with it!

i had some great results using *RBC voicetweaker*
but it is a very old plugin

i managed to get very professional female-voices
with it!
but i added some extra FX (forgot which one)
to make it perfect! ..and some pitch..filter..etc.

my results really sound 100% female!

good luck!

if you can`t get it done,

i might be able to help?!?
using my "technique" of doing it..
as it is hard/impossible to explain.

hmm :/

i've never tested it, but i am certain you require the free plug-in "omnivox," which is a formant shifter. reviews said it worked well.

tbh even formant shifting will not 'disguise' your identity, but i am sure this is the effect you are looknig for (makes deeper/higher w/o changing pitch)

if it's not public anymore, pm me - might take me a few days to get back.
