I got you Rob, thanks, I had become blind to that bit of the name :) Funny thing is- I tried it and it crashed in Fontaminator, but not Esef. :ud:

Post

ooh

thats odd

but i guess it might be the version of synthedit the plugs are compiled with

esef / twinsef are the 'newest' plugs so will have the most stable version of the soundfont manager in them

when fontaminator goes to versionONE later this week [ finally ] it will be built with the newest synthedit build and so should be more stable in its handling of .sf2

glad to help anyway

slainte :P rob

Thanx guys..... I'm thinken the comma's are the problem because I can get soundfonts to work from http://www.hammersound.net which don't have the comma's.... I apparently tho have a bad partition on my laptop so I can't boot into 2000 right now... but I'll get around 2 it tommorrow morning hopefully...

Thanx again, you don't know how many times all you have saved my butt here.... :D

I use it all the time. Works great in my old, outdated laptop setup designed to be a minimal sample and VST player.

I use only sfz for soundfonts, as it seems to have the best quality by a large margin. If I need to edit, I just convert it to Emulator X and go from there... sort of frustrating, but the newer E-MU DAS cards (as distinct from the APS) don't support soundfonts, so I can't use Vienna...

sfz has a large advantage as a soundfont player in that it also supports sfz format, which is human-readable and very powerful. It can't disk stream sfz, unfortunately - just sf2.
