Do you guys know how the free Ableton Live Lite version given away with Korg or EMU Keybord controllers differ from the full version. Is it just a demo version, or can I use to actually achieve something?

I understand the is no such thing as free lunch but I hoping it is better than a demo version.

i have an old version of LiveDelta (2.1, i think) and it's decent. i've used it on a few songs. you can save, record, render, all that stuff. not sure what the limitations are in the newer versions though.

Hi.

If it's the same version that comes with the Line 6 toneport then it'll have 4 audio tracks and a few midi tracks (not sure how many midi, maybe 6 or something) pretty heavily crippled in my view.

I have the M-Audio Live Lite 4. 4 midi tracks/4 audio tracks I think it can only use 2 effects. I also have the Live 5 demo ;}

Thanks for info. I will download demo anyway and check it out anyway. I can see me buying a EMU MIDI controller, and using Live Lite too, I'm sure there will be an upgrade path like there is with Reason Adapted. I have been looking at Ableton for a while, so I think I'll jump in.

Well, mine has unlimited midi tracks, but only 4 audio tracks. So they must have updated it. I never really use it, but I have it installed just in case I ever do.

Hmm, I may be thinking of something else. I could have sworn it said unlimited midi tracks though.

I have Live Lite 4 plus the update to 4.xx. It came with my M-Audio Trigger Finger. I find it way too limited to accomplish anything even close to finished. Only 1 VSTi possible, 4 audio tracks, can't recall the Midi limit.

If you exceed the limits of the lite version it offers for you to use it in Demo mode. Rather Irritating IMHO. :bang:

I was very glad that I didn't count on Live Lite to be my main sequencer and have other DAW software. No offense intended to Ableton. :wink:

I got it with my delta 44, along with Reason Adapted.
For some reason I can't rewire it, although Reason Adapted does the rewire thing fine.
I tried it out with Energy XT as one of the instruments :) that works well.
It's not a bad program; i can see why people like it.
