But, err, still no redo button!

What's that about?

Two answers - to monitor with effects while recording you need Audition 2.0 - earlier versions cannot do it.

Yes, more flexible undo/redo would be nice.

I was looking at the new monitor features on 2.0, but until I got the manual I didn't want to speak out of turn and say the wrong thing...;)

Of course with the undo, you can always save before you hit undo then if you don't like it restart AA..though it's a time consuming work around....especially if you use undo a lot, which I don't... :)

Dudes & dudets.. what the hell happened to rewire?? I mean it ss..tt..tt..ut..tt..ee..er..rs..s (stutters) like hell now.. Tells my m-audio firewire solo that it is playing at 96khz in Multitrack.. I've tried every conceivable setup I could muster from my system and still getting porky pig on the rewire side.. and really kills my mood when you see some of the old gui's on effects etc and then new ones on the newer functions fx etc.. Man does this mean we gotta wait for v 2.1??? I feel like I'm recording for the software and not for music anymore..

I am having BIG TIME Problem rewiring to FL studio.
Export to wave is the only solution... Must admit that AA2 do handle wav file very nicely... one can have a session up and running in a minute after an export from FL. No more waiting for that 'green meter' to load in 1.5... Thank God.

Yea but I need to have rewire working properly for my uses I mean I did not fork out my $ just to have a malfunctioning product..

I work that way with FL and AA anyhow, however I just tried rewiring to FL and it was fast and simple, just like with 1.5...no problems of any type...

Hink.. hmm that is strange.. maybe a specific harware requirement or something..?? I mean I use rewire in 1.5 and it works like a dream.. Can I still use 1.5 after I've installed 2.0?? I hate reading ULAs...

You may continue to use 1.5 after you have upgraded to 2.0, so long as they are both on the same machine (says the EULA). There is no technical problem with that.

I'm really not into rewire but I've seen something about have the transport running for it to work properly - does that make any sense??

Like you I dont use rewire much, however the complaint seems to be about latency...with FL6 came some more cpu usage with new features and I reckon that the same might hold true with AA2.0..afterall there is a price to pay for more features. Logic suggests too me, (at least rewire with FL), there might be more usage causing the need for longer buffers...

So I haven't used rewire in the first place because it seems too me that's it's better to render in FL and import to AA instead of running two apps (not being a rewire expert I could be 100% wrong on this)...So with upgrades the same computer is apt to become more sluggish if one doesn't improve the computer's perfromance as well.

Like I say I could be wrong, 2.0 does have ASIO which one would think would be the opposite...but again we are talking two apps instead of just AA...I suspect the problem isnt really AA, but 2.0 does contribute to the problem, if that makes sense. However I did not do anything extensive with the rewire on my test, I just checked to see if it worked and it did...sorry if that was mis-leading...:)

Yes, more flexible undo/redo would be nice.
Hmmm, seems odd for an app to be seemingly so mature in its development, but to still lack redo. Bit disappointing really.

no actually it makes perfect sense because you're a little mistaken...I thought when reading your post above something didn't seem right, then I saw this one and remembered to check...the reason I hadn't noticed it before is because in multi-track view there is no redo...however in the the edit view there is...for me anyhow since getting AA1.0 when it first came out. The only place I have ever needed a redo is in the edit view when I'm applying fx as opposed to real time, I guess everything else in multi-track is pretty much easy to redo as I never needed it...but I knew I have used it a lot in the edit view...I checked both versions and yup 2.0 has redo in the edit view too...:)

What are you guys talking about? I set my redo levels from the default of 5 to 20 in the options/preferences window. It covers both edit view and multi-track.

Oh shite -- you guys are talking about "redo"... My bad...

But why is that so important? I've never used 'redo' in other progs because I would usually literally redo the part/effect, so I find value only in undo...

Some new things I am learning -- right click & hold to drag a clip in multitrack -- that's new and kinda cool.
