i like it's simplicity,nice work. :)

...but a shuffle would be nice,
(maybe there's a simple midi shuffle-only plug out there somewhere?)

Post

i can't get this working in xt. :(
i hooked it up to the midi in,then put the midi out into a synth.nothing.
tried trigging it with a midi note on,nope.
did anyone get it working in xt?
(sorry it took me so long to trying it out)

I got it to work, trigerred by a note on (from a MIDI part in the main window.) Experienced some weirdness at first, but reloaded and it works fine.

thanks,foxy.that's what i did.
i'll try again. :)

Try setting "beats" to a higher value, or just feeding it some long notes.

If it want help, I can send you .ext

btw, I am getting some weird results: unsynced sounds, varying note lengths etc. But I'm not on my DAW, so can't really tell if this the plugin's fault or my setup's.

ok,but it's not doing much atm.

Post

just layered 3 long notes in my midi part and its playing...erm something. :hihi: anything it feels like i think.or maybe i've not grasped its meaning in life?

Post

ok,i get it.you gotta play chords and the dots just select the notes in your chord.i thought it the grid was a little stepsequencer. :dog:
and making the sustain longer seemed to help.cool.thanks mr.fox and thanks to pukeweed too.nice. :D

Post

sorry about my bumbling last night.
but tell me if i'm wrong but isn't this quite unique?

Post

seems pretty unique to me!
there are other arpeggiators out there, but the fact that *I* could get this one to work...AND the way it actually works are the unique parts
the fact that the playback is a flexible version of a "played as" mode rocks 8)

Post

Great, but...

Peggy plays faster than the tempo in Traction. It's annoying!

Anyone else had this problem?

It's a shame because as has been noted, Peggy looks the part in Tracktion.

Could it be to do with sample rate? Mine's at 48000

Post

This is a bizzare little plug, no doubt. Not a bad thing, necessarily.

I got all my arp needs catered by ERA, so I won't be using this. Still I'd like to thank Pukeweed for his generosity.

@spacedad: glad things worked out for you.

@bigjobs: have you played with the parameters? It takes some getting used to, this one. Does all kind of unexpected things. Will try to test it later in T and report back.

spacefox: yes I've played with the parameters. No joy.

Whoa. activity. Thanks for the praise and stuff.

Regarding the bugage:
It definatly sounds like a problem with the samplerate. It calls for an update to it, every so often but if it doesn't get a sane result it defaults to 44100.

This might be a problem with JUCE or tracktion actually. I'll see what I can do and get back to you.

Post

I did a very minor change in how the samplerate is retrived. I may just work. Same link. Other than that I'll have to wait and see if Jules can tell me something.

I don't think the idea is that revolutionary? I think I've seen it several times actually. Lots of harware synths have pattern arps, though they usually just have a number of pre-made patterns rather than full editing caps.
