Just out of curiosity bluedad, what kind of inserts do you use to get your tone? I still can't make anything sound 'useful'bluedad wrote:I usually put my guitar fx as an insert; so simply put your fx on the insert strip of the sfz channel.

I used to use the free guitar suite, prior to that mda combo. Now most of the time I use a J-Station; however I'm not much of an electric guitar player so not the best person to answer those questions.advaya wrote:Just out of curiosity bluedad, what kind of inserts do you use to get your tone? Cubase's built-in overdrive isn't too bad, it's got a speaker simulator in it. daTube adds something too, could never get to grips with QuadraFuzz. Won't sound like a top-spec Mesa Boogie but it will tide you over until you can afford Amplitube or Guitar Rig. I was also a great fan of TBT's Grasetube when you could find it.

Try the excellent freebie amp & stompbox sims at www.simulanalog.org These are mono effects only, so if your sample is stereo you will end up with effected sound on the left and dry sound on the right. You can fix that with the Surround mixer - just send the Left side to both Left and Right, and leave the Right side faders down.
Voxengo has a guitar amp sim too - haven't tried it, but i'm sure it's good.
