Simple, yet good sounding filter?

Trying to find the workhorse basic filter plug. The one that is so simple you can use it in your sleep, yet produce good sounding and interesting results.

There are lot of good filters out there: Frohmage, Filterscape, Fabfilter Volcano etc.

But right now, I really don't need all the bells and whistles. I need a simple plug that has cutoff, resonance and (preferably) overdrive. Switchable between a couple of filter types: low/high/band pass, 24 dB/oct, 48 db/oct etc. Just the usual stuff.

But it should sound good and have character!

Bifilter. No doubt about it!

Very simple and Very good!

Yeah, Bifilter is great. There's something about the volume response when you change controls that I don't like though.

My all time favourite for simple filter applications is the free Ohmforce Frohmage:

Oh yeah, for low pass, don't miss out on Frohmage. I'd say it's the best LP filter that money can't buy.

Squarefilter is another freebie low-pass that barely ever gets mentioned. It's got 4 different modes, and the distortion+resonance is really excellent for drums (think Bjork's All is Full of Love). But put something like Gnormal in front of it to prevent lockups when there is no data feeding it for a long time.

Naive LPF is good too .. high pass and low pass, 1-4 poles

...with an envelope follower that goes right down to zero attack and release times for growly filter X-mod type effects as well as the usual auto-wah type stuff. :D

Did I mention MIDI and Joystick control? :o

Then there's the outrageous price... ;)

I'm eager to try your latest version but DL's from your server seem to clock in at around 11 kb/sec (T1 on my end)... :(

Your right this file is huge there should be a lite version without those huge graphics. My host is even smaller than this plugin. Probably both of my hosts.
Do not lick the fablanky
