raise the 'minimum expression' value..Barf wrote:Uhm...I know I'm not very clever but I cant seem to get any sound out of it in FLstudio...
then you'll want to route some controller to expression using the gui to get the most out of it
--
guido - havne't tried v2 yet but the 'puff of air' that happens with a rapid increase in expression value.. could you make that optional, eg. if using a mod wheel (eg. in my use i can't go fast enuff for correct breath puff emu, only 'tonal expression') it comes in when i'm just trying to vary tone.

I have the same problem in Tracktion and Aodix. The solution is to adjust the minimum expression up a bit. You can then move it back down, once sound starts. My spies inform me that Barf wrote:Uhm...I know I'm not very clever but I cant seem to get any sound out of it in FLstudio...
Hmm, I guess this counts as a bug report.
Also, there is just too much air noise. It's like the damper in MrRay 73 -- way too much unless it's almost off. There's a sweet spot of maybe one mouse movement; maybe a logarithmic scale would work better.
Wait... loot _then_ burn? D'oh!

No, it's not a bug. I've included 4 presets: the "BC" ones are ready for a breath controller, while the "AT" ones are for aftertouch.Jafo wrote:I have the same problem in Tracktion and Aodix. Sorry, still no documentation available
What I was trying to do was to have a nice little GUI with just the basic options... all in all it's a trumpet, and a trumpet doesn't have.. "options"
I'm going to upload beta 3 very soon.

but trumpets DO have presets. There are these three button on top. The combinations of them are the presets. Pitch presets.
Have fun, FRitz
In the end will be the word.

Nothing i say is a criticism, first of all i want to be clear, cause im lovin this thing, and id never be one to look a gift horn in the mouthpiece.
but speaking of mutes...
the one in the gui picture is a straight mute and thats kinda how it sounds in the model too and the preferred jazz mute is the harmon, with its plunger removed.
also theres the rubber toilet plunger, i use an aprox 3/4 size black one that fits the bell nicely but many just buy (new , i hope) a toilet plunger and take off the handle. i got some sounds in the 1st demo that seemed to hint at that sound. that would be a cool thing to layer with the breath control cc# or control it with another cc# and a pedal.
http://library.thinkquest.org/10693/mute.html
Now might be the time to post about this plugin on the windsynth list, its a forum of windsynth players and they are all looking for this kind of plugin

sonarman: theres an upright in NI akoustic, im not sure how much you can mess up its tuning tho. maybe to do Thelonius youll need a midi to piano-roll converter and a player piano.

Wow, haven't had a try yet or the possiblity to listen to the demos, but my expectations are huge. Your other PM instruments are my absolute favourite virtual instruments. Which reminds me I should donate, I didn't have the cash earlier on but now I do...

good work on the latest beta.
hearing how smooth and lovely the automatic vibrato is makes me want to do the same naturally with pitch bend but at my own rate and feel but im noticing the pitch bend seems quantized into steps, is that by design?
i went into the editor and drew some very smooth pitch bends and they seem to come out stepped.
is there a way to smooth out the pitch bend, perhaps as an option?

If the pitch bend interval is an octave (as is the default) it's not too surprising if the pitch bend is modeled more like a glissando, which on a brass instrument other than a trombone will have those little "knees" in the pitch curve. But for bends that cover less than two semitones, one ought not to hear it.

:d Im lovin' this little plugin! Just been playing summer time over and over for like 10mins! For non-trumpet players this sounds very realistic, even more so when controlled correctly and with the right effects applied.

off to try #3 in a min.. will donate later too
i really hope you're patting yourself on the back for this. this is imo, along with gsnap (autotune) and omnivox (formant shifting) and se in general, of the utmost significance in freeware since time began.
and to make it w/o time-outs.. is sainthood. you should know this :p
help the poor people sound like "they're important too!"
~o.t.. put a quick hiphop affair 'the record' on http://www.soundclick.com/thehypocrite that uses milesTone.. nothing much..
..but if you listen to 'passion' or 'difficulty,' these use my favourite sax patch on the korg z1..
guido.. if you can replicate this timbre when you develop the sax, i will be your bestest friend forever and ever and ever...
