Anybody here in KVR use this plugin? Just tried the demo and hear some great tones. Im looking for some feedback from actual users before I break out the cash. Thanks much in advance.

it can be a little CPU hungry but it sounds great ... or deliberately not great if that what you want ... there are other smaller distorion / amp / delay / compressor plugs out there but if you want the lot in one unit (and have enough CPU power) then trash is a good choice ...

I agree with pHz

you get great sounds and superb control. Just read the four "Trash Recipes Guides"
http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/trash/guides.html to see how it can be flexible

there are also tips on reducing CPU use during tracking

Highly recommended! Covers all your distortion needs.

I love it. Plenty good presets. And if you like experimenting it's a giant toolbox for finding your sound. It will really take a while before you hit the ceiling with Trash(gosh...I sound like a sales person).

And to make a bit easier still, I made some utilities to sort on the most common settings:

I used it for guitar and bass mostly. But will try out replacing the amp in B4 organ to get a nicer dist than B4's own tube amp.

Anyway, try the demo, and as already said here, the guides.

Thanks much everybody! Based on the demo and the praise here I will have to break out the credit card.

I like to run Trash parallel with the Simuanalog suite plugins. They compliment each other nicely and can give a huge sound similar to multiple guitars tracking the same chords. Trash is so deep thta you have to hunt and peck since I don't find all the sounds useful, but there are literally thousands of combinations so I think you will get your money's worth if you put some time into it.

One thing that's great is that it isn't all guitar amps. There's tape modelling, mic preamps, mic models, and even analog delays that sound pretty juicy!

With all that on tap, it's easy to find uses for Trash in most areas of mixing.
Here is my small version:

When I'm working on a track and it's reaching the stage of about 40+ tracks each with an average of 3 plugins on - I tend to open up a new logic file specifically so I can bounce audio throught Trash and then bring it into the main song again.- It is the most anal;oue crunchy harmonicy sounding distortion I;ve heard in software much better than Guitar Amp Pro etc

I use trash all the time, great stuff, even has some basic Mic modeling and the like built in. I use it much more than I originally thought I would.

My most used plugin. If you kill the GUI graphics stuff (automations, spectrograms etc.) when you dont need them...

Big fan of Ozone and Spectron as well.

Ive spent the better part of 3 hours tonight fooling around with the demo and am hooked! I find I can get a "good" sound IMO in just a few minutes where it used to take me several plugins and alot longer. The settings offered and ability to adjust each one with so many parameters is more than I expected. Definatly will be adding this one to the toolbox here. Thanks again to all who have responded!

I would love to see an update where you select Trash presets by midi control, then it truly could be used live!
I'm just wondering whats happening in the Izotope camp at the moment...
Tracktioneering for a better place to 'be'.....

I suggested like two years ago to them this with making preset slots for these patches.

As of now the plug does not know which preset is loaded. It's just a bunch of parameters once the xml-file is loaded.

When storing it within a song, you have no idea which patch is loaded.

So a map to load 128 preset names, and the midi stuff would be nice to simply select one in realtime.

And if parameters could be controlled as well, you could to wah-stuff etc.

Especially for Ozone a midi controller thing would be great. Just close your eyes and listen very hard, and using physical knobs and faders on a controller while doing this.
