I'm thinking this might be a great way to get the sonic imprint of a classic mixing desk (for example) on some digital tracks...
Anyone done this?

Are you using convolution to add warmth?

All the availible preamp IR's Iv'e tried just sound like out of phase EQ to me and not very warm or anything resembling a preamp.I think you need something beyond standard convolution methods like Sintefex's methods or something along the lines of Waves Q-Clone. Iv'e seen some posts where people claim to have had success with standard convolution but Iv'e yet to hear any that worked for me.
