So? XXL just means you get Sytrus, Wasp, WaspXT, etc. with FL Studio. You can still use FL5 with the XXL stuff.CrownRoyal wrote:I went from the basic FL5 version to the XXL version. FL6 is the only software that I have on my PC that crashes. Guitar Rig One used to crash but I've stopped using it in favor of Amplitube. So, it's only FL6 that wigs out my PC (both my laptop and desktop).
I would have to say there has got to be laws against people bitching about software not working when they're not taking care of their computer right! Lo and behold, Fl6 works 100% fine on my computer, and works 100% fine on my grandpas new computer, but I tried it on grandpa'S older computer which has been infested with spyware before, and it didn't work! *gasp* Who would have thought of that?
And wait, it gets better. I reinstalled the Operating system on his old computer, tried FL6, and it worked! Without even a hitch! This is unbelievable, it must be magic!
Early releases of FL were a bit buggy but not to the point of unuseability, and it works 100% fine now. The only problem I do have is not related to FL6 at all, and is really so minor its hardly worth considering.
I don't run Anti Virus software. I don't have a firewall. I turned off all that "security" bullshit in Windows XP. I don't have a dedicated "DAW", I use my computer for making music, programming, playing my games, browsing the web, downloading stuff, looking at porn, and whatever else happens to cross my mind. Yet, for SOME f**king reason, I don't have ANY problems EVER. Take care of your computer, and your computer takes care of you. Don't blame it on the developer.
Now, again, on your "I'd like to get my money back" --- don't bitch here, bitch to them. And you're not getting your money back either - They don't do refunds. You agreed to this. If you really bought it (you might have, I wouldn't know, I don't check Looptalk and you might not either). But you bought XXL, that means you get Sytrus, Wasp, WaspXT also as VST versions (I believe) so that you can use them in energyXT if you want. Hell, if you don't want your XXL, you're welcome to give it to me.
And no, I'm not an Image-Line fanboy (they really piss me off sometimes).

I bought Sytrus in the group buy and demo'ed FL5. I liked it and bought it, too. I built a PC in November based on what I've read in here. I have an AMD dual core 4400, 2 Gigs of RAM, ASUS MB, Nvidia 6800 and a Hammerfall 9632. WinXP is the OS. So, comparing that to "grampa's" computer is stupid but obviously you know my setup, eh? WHATEVER dork.
I have bitched in the FL forums, so bite me. I was looking for version 5 because FL6 is a buggy POS. I want something that works and eXT is doing that for me.
As I said in earlier posts, it's the ONLY PROGRAM I HAVE THAT CRASHES. Think whatever you want but you assume that I don't know what I'm doing.
BTW, FL6 crashes the $hit out of my laptop, too. Dell M60 2.1GHz, 1 Gig, M-Audio Ozone.
So, excuse the fcuk out of me if I have the opinion that I should get my moneyback. I pay for my stuff and expect it to work. All of it does EXCEPT FL6. Do you get it, now?
Go and search for crash posts in Tech Support on FL's forums. You'll see mine. I don't make this $hit up. But whatever, you know what's going on on my system, apparently. Boy, I better go do a Spyware check so that FL works.

DSP's Vertigo and Phantom also have problems. There's weird aliasing sounds coming from Albino 2.2, too. I look forward to them fixing Rewire, too. Even Reflex admited that Rewire isn't working properly.... oh, but if you read some fanboy posts, everything is fine and dandy. HA! I suppose the obvious question is why did you uninstall 5? I guess its just the IT nerd in me, but I have my reg key and install package dated to v 2.7 on CD. I suppose I could host it for you, but you seem to be acting like an arse and taking out yer anger on the wrong people, so I pass.

EDIT: Oops... I read 6 instead of 5. In the forums, and in the readme file, IL suggested that you save your .flp's and presets, uninstall 5 and then install 6. That's what I did... I followed the directions. You have to be careful running two different versions of a host because of Rewire and things like that. Each version wants to over write the others engine or .dll files are in different locations. This is what I was told.Stupid American Pig wrote:I suppose the obvious question is why did you uninstall 5? --- below is the original reply
I did uninstall it. When you do that without clearing out the registry, all the dialog boxes are missing text. FL6 uninstaller doesn't remove all traces of itself. I don't want to reinstall my whole system just to get back to FL5.
Does that help?
As for being an arse, think what you like. I never called anyone names and now it seems that I'm an arse for asking how and why. If I can't post an opinion that I should get my money-back because FL6 is faulty then so be it.
I retract my posts and everything is fine... there's no trouble... FL6 is wonderful... I'm going to give them MORE money because I like them soooo much.
Whatever...

Um, just so you don't think I'm dis-ing you. I'm not. Okay? Obviously, I've touched on some religious ground here.Stupid American Pig wrote:I suppose the obvious question is why did you uninstall 5? Here's what I did:
- I bought Sytrus in the group buy. Loved it!
- I downloaded FL5, because I've so many good things about it and liked it a lot, and I bought it. Then I upgraded to the Producer edition.
- Then when FL6 was announced, I bought XXL because it was on special.
- I kept using FL5 until 6.0.2 and then downloaded it thinking that would be "like" FL 5.0.2 as far as maturity goes.
- I played around with 6.0.0 on my laptop and thought it was going to okay but didn't do anything serious on it.
- When I really started testing what works and what doesn't, it became clear to me that it was fun to play with but would crash at any given momment.
- I've posted dozens of screen captures and run "diagnose" as many times.
- I figure I'll go back to FL5 but can't find my original download.
- I post a message asking about where I can get FL5 because I'm being ignored by FL in their forums.
- I posted in here because I know there's a lot of people using FL5 still.
Hey, I'm sorry but it full of bugs and there's people that are in denial about it.
Okay, I'm done.... this is a waste of time.
I wasn't pissed off nor am I now. I realized that I've stepped on some religious grounds by saying something bad about FL.
God GOD, an Image-Line Jihad is after me!

Have you tried using eXT inside FL and loading your VSTs in there? I've noticed that if I have a strange acting VST in FL6, I start eXT up and use it that way instead. Why that works, I don't know, but I used to "wrap" Guitar Rig 1 in eXT and the crackling would go away. Why? I have no idea. It just works.ULONIX wrote:anyway, im asking this again, is it there a way to make superwave p8 and plugsound free work well on fl studio????????????????????????????????????????????

Well, considering that my grandpas computer is not much different except that hes got less RAM. But suit yourself, although I'm pretty damn certain my computer will run better than yours, and I've only got a lowsy 1.7Ghz laptop, boohoo. LEts see, first thing you did is probably install that cracked version of ZoneAlarm that everybody has .. hmm, so you have 2 firewalls already! Ohh soo sloooow! Probably norton AntiVirus too, since it probably shipped with it or maybe your previous store-bought one ... hhmmmm, crawling already! Doesn'T surprise me stuff works slow, which is why you need to assert yourself and get the biggest badass system out there.CrownRoyal wrote: Yeah, they piss me off, too. And so have you. Oooohh how long have you had your laptop? Hmm? How long have you surfed the internet with it using Internet explorer? oooh, probably you have that POS called Norton installed too! That might be why it doesn'T work ... oops!CrownRoyal wrote: I have bitched in the FL forums, so bite me. I was looking for version 5 because FL6 is a buggy POS. Go and search for crash posts in Tech Support on FL's forums. You'll see mine. I don't make this $hit up. But whatever, you know what's going on on my system, apparently. Boy, I better go do a Spyware check so that FL works.
So lets see ... You bought Sytrus, liked it and it worked, you got FL5, liked it and it worked, you got FL6 while it was newly released (anybody will tell you a program that is jsut released won't be perfect), so you did the most stupid thing ever and UNINSTALLED FL5 FIRST before you install FL6. I've got 4.51, 5, and 6 installed on this machine, living side by side and not bothering anybody. The only thing that changed by installing FL6 was that .flp files now open with FL6 instead of FL5, big f**king deal.
Wait, now comes the best part ... you've been using Sytrus, FL5, now FL6 doesn'T work and you want all of your money back? Waait wait ... FL6 was a free upgrade? And even if you went for the XXL package (which would be stupid since you already have Sytrus, dumbass), the XXL package applies to FL5 too! *gasp*
Sonar doesn't work properly with all VSTs ... Acid doesn't work properly with all VSTs ... hell not even Cubase works properly with all VSTs ... are you starting to see a pattern here? Thats not FL's fault, thats the fault of the shitty VST standard. Ask aciddose or brambos and they'll tell you how easy it is to make a host that works with every plugin. FL et al are making adjustments to their VST code, making it uglier, so that most of the stuff DOES work!CrownRoyal wrote: DSP's Vertigo and Phantom also have problems. About Rewire ... No, Rewire doesn't work that well. Its not a problem for me. Not every app does everything perfect, and Reflex told me that once more important issues are sorted out (which might be now, already), he's reworking the code that makes FL interact with other stuff. This means, Rewire, Collab, VST plugin, all overhauled. But really, I don't care since I don't use that functionality. And really, Rewire is ugly to use anyway.
He means uninstall FL5. And if FL5 doesnt work when it did before, nobody else is having that problem, then you might just have some malware that a reinstall might just fix.CrownRoyal wrote:I did uninstall it.
