Id like to be able to do cool filter FX on the fly on my tracks with my midicontroller, kind of like the stuff I do in a DJ mix with my dj mixer. Antares Filter is great for these type of FX but doesn't have MidiLearn for the most part. Any other recommendations for a good Filter VST that has good midi learn functionality? Thanks guys

frohmage from ohmforce
you also could get energyXT as you can use any VST you want in it, connect VST automation parameters to MIDI CCs with the CC mapper and use eXT's midi learn. that way you can supply any VST you can think of with midi learn.
energyXT -> http://www.xt-hq.com

edit: isnt Frohmage Mono only? Do you mean quadFrohmage? i use ohmboyz delay right now so I will def check it out. About energyXt, i am perfectly happy with Cubase :)
thank u.

the point is one can use energyXT as a vst/vsti, do some crazy routing inside it, e.g. send the audio from a vsti to umpteen different destinations, bugger it up with all kinds of effects etc. & (I believe) then set it all up so that it can all be automated form within SX.

Frohmage filter does work on a stereo buss and doesn't mono the signal if thats what you mean zion7. It filters out both sides and retains the stereo image....and a damn good filter it is to.

Cheers.

i will try it thank u all.
i would still love to hear even more options. :)

bifilter doesn't have midi learn, but does have simple midi control & is a simple but nice sounding filter.
If your just wanting to manually do filter sweeps it's worth a try, it's free & sounds quality cc74 for filter cutoff.
I also like obertone filterbank dunno about midi learn, I just automate it from within Ableton live which is a piece of piss, obviously it's a little more difficult in SX if one is using the generic remote.

Hallo RAW,
can you describe how it works in energy XT ?
Where I find the CC Mapper ?

With the plugin interface open, press the "file" button just above the interface. First option is CC Map.

Press "add" to add a VST parameter and set the CC for it or middle click/ ctrl+click it for MIDI learn.

Another way is to right click the plugin on the main mixer and select "show parameter". The selected parameter will show as a slider below the plugin's name.
Middle clicking the parameter's name will initiate MIDI learn for it.

As a matter of fact, I also bought Volcano as an alternative to Antares Filter.

Antares Filter sounds really fantastic, but Antares let you install it on only one computer, so I decided against it.
Very funny was, that when I asked their support about their licensing policy, they dared to advertise as a great and extraordinary customer service that in case of a harddisk crash I would get a new authorisation. Bah!
