Hmmm...that's crazy enough that it just...might...work...Eureka!!
:hihi:

I think it's more in what not to use. Like shitty preamps, shitty mics, shitty vsti's and sound card/converters. Other than that, "digital harshness" is a myth imho.

Record with an ADK TC or Audio-Technica AT4047 through a Sebatron preamp and you bet your ass it will be warm. Slap some Voxengo Marquis and HarmoniEQ on there and you're freaking good to go.

I like to drop all things on audio until it sounds '1985 tdk tape quality'.

Oh and... ;)

Topic: You're preferred method for adding analog warmth
Your, You're

* Your = possessive pronoun: Your shoes are untied.
* You're = contraction for you are: You're walking around with your shoes untied. (Pronouns have apostrophes only when two words are being shortened into one.

As illustrated by pictures in my previous post, it doesn't get much fuzzier :)

NordElectro2 -> Echocord Dynacord Super65 (tube tape echo/preamp) -> EH Big Muff (fuzz pedal) -> Ampeg Reverberocket (tube amp) -> cheapo Shure dynamic mic as a room mic -> to tape. Enough warmth? Ya bet. :hihi:

I use a lot Voxengo Boogex and Analog Flux. Mostly Boogex, damn my CPU is on it's knees because that.

Boogex for me is a blessing.
