Hi,
I just registered here to let people know I developped a very simple thus working video plugin for softwares that don't offer that facility, originally I created it for Ableton Live. It is a Pluggo plugin so you'll need to install Pluggo runtime on the computer. Then it is just a file to drag and drop, no install.
It's simple and a little uggly but hey, working great for many people. all info and download here:
http://groc.org/movieplayer
There's even a donation facility, in case you get the work of your life thanks to MoviePlayer !
Kind regards,
amo

Hey cool, this sort of utility really does serve a purpose cause to my knowledge there is only ReVision (mac-only) and the Winamp video bridge which can be quite unstable if not setup perfectly. Do you think there'll ever be a vst version of this?

I'm gonna try it in eXT too.
Just out of curiosity, what formats can it play? Quicktime, MPG, AVI?
Thanks for making this!

Hi,
I just uploaded the MAC version of MoviePlayer 0.5 here
Well, now I'm hooked and I don't have cash to purchase MAX... 10 days left only, and it is out of question to use a c**** version. Hopefully a 100 happy users will make a donation of 5 euros and I'll buy it ! hehehe.
For the sync: there are in fact many different timescales a Quicktime, or avi, or mpeg can have. I've just given the choice of 600 (classic quicktime) or 90000 (lots of mpg have 900000). If your movie has another timescale, the sync won't work, but the movie will still play fine if started from the top.
What I do generally is open the movie in Quicktime and reexport it, with sorenson compression, thus the timescale is 600 (Quicktime pro). Or use any movie editor. Or wait I make an update with more timescale choices (next ten days !!) which is not sure.
Enjoy and please comment on that thread !
Kind regards,
amo

Do you mean not-hosted-by-pluggo ? If that's what you mean, no. I don't know how to program. But yes, when Ableton make their own... For now, it just acts as a VST, in any host. Just that it uses Pluggo.Do you think there'll ever be a vst version of this?
