The mp3 you posted "I'm Sprung" is a perfect example of (over)use of Antares Autotune. It's a hideous god-awful overused cliched sound, but exactly what you're after apparently.

Antares Autotune. Seriously. Maybe they used the Yamaha one, because it does the same thing. All those other recommendations are simply to make a voice "sound robotic", not sound exactly like the example you provided.tippin4bowes wrote:people say pitch fix yamaha, some say antares auto tune, and some say ring modulator....Oh my which one is it peoples??? wich one can make my voice sound like the

Well, except for the talkbox, which WAS used for "California Love". Different tool, different sound.

Everyone talks about using plug-ins. Same deal as with guitars and guitar synths -- you'll never get authentic sound until you HIRE A ROBOT SINGER! C'mon, they need paying work.
[edit] Silly me, they actually exist. =9_9= Leave it to me to underestimate the absurdity of the world.

there's a free autotune effect, 'gsnap' - haven't used it but good reviews - there's also a betabugs autotune plug (worth knowing about all their free plugs..) 'freetune' or something - it requires directx or something..
if you're stupid, you can use my 'synger' plug, which is 100% synthetic voice.. you have to sequence the phonemes to make it speak. 'synger' is effect which processes same phoneme formants on any signal, but the timing can be iffy depending on your host, and solid timing is eneeded for intelligibility.

Yeah, I've heard great things about gsnap too, and especially if you just want to "try" for the sound you're after, it makes a lot more sense to download this one than buy or however else you intended to try Autotune.

I'm surprised Prodyon hasn't stepped in here yet:

EDIT: Whoops! Didn't see the 1st page! tippin4bowes, there have been, like, 12 threads about this exact thing in the last year. Maybe search the forums for "california love" or "tupac" in "Effects".
