Couldnt agree more!!!
I worked with Boris on the Soundbank for Intro and would have continued creating more soundbanks for the other synths as well.
Boris is a Russian resident and therefore does not have access to paypal or any other similar internet banking services, wich really is a shame.
The way he was planning to get around this was that anyone interested in the Synths would email him and then organise a bank wire transfer into his account and also post or fax proof of this.
Now we all know how long this would take not too mention its a pain in the A** way of buying a VST!!! So initially there weremany people wanting to purchase the Intro but as soon as it come down to the payment people werent prepared to do this in such fashion.
Im trying to come up with a plan for Boris who as become a good friend now, so that at least he can get some sorta reward for these excellent plugins and so he doesnt stop making them!!!
So if anyone is really wanting to help this guy out give me some ideas.
Cheers....
Well I would say that you are probably closer to Boris than anybody here, is it possible that you
could be his middle man ? you accept payment,
and you could send him one lump sum once a month
or something like that ? instead of every single
purchase...I e-mailed him a bit ago, when
his site was having problems..told him I was
having a problem with downloading the
demo version of INTRO and that I would host his
site for him, and he sent me MEDDLE.
Not sure if he understood me.

Well anyway..I'd be more than happy to build a
site for him and host his synths so that
they would be available for download...
is this possible ?

Hey System thanks for the offer and i will speak to Boris abou that.
im sorta of his liasion and sound designer.
Boris isnt very good at English and even tought we trade emails rather often, i cant always understand what he writes, he uses some translator program or so.
Ive emailed him know and told him about this thread and hopefully this will put a smile on his face again and give him that boost to get going again.
i think he was really sad that the plugins didnt sell, and i for one tought they were fairly priced and all.
But System ill keep your offer defenetly open, maybe Boris can offer you some deal as with Future plugin releases for the site hosting and so on.

Yeah..that was the idea I had, that he was using a translation...I too used a translation to send
e-mails to him, but I think the translation isn't that good..this is what I use...
http://www.freetranslation.com/

but yeah..definately if that's what he wants to do..
I'm there ! and I am also working on a bank for INTRO as well...got like a little over twenty
or so made so far...and I've made a few patches for the MEDDLE and like one for the VS-1...my main concetration right now is INTRO...

let me know either way....

It's too bad: his synths are very good and well-priced; it was that horrible, slow website and no real payment option that kept people away. I am glad we are at least talking about this now. Now hopefully we can all work to find a solution for Boris - he deserves to be paid for his work. We just need to find a way for people to trust they can send their money. :D

Maybe some entrepreneurial kvr'er can set up a site that is the softsynth equivalent of, well.....an independant record label? Just a store for small devs to sell their stuff...no need for too much detail, i'm sure you understand what i mean. :P An S.E superstore, but obviously not just S.E stuff. :P Something that can pool everything into one place.

I think i do remeber such a shop beeing set up online actually, just cant remeber the site now. They only sold VST made by small companies or private persons.

Intro has the best presets, the others could use some more

Post

Rucafest, I absolutely love INTRO presets!!! More, please? As for helping Boris K, here is an idea. I'm sure you know about Voxengo Plugins and the man behind it, Aleksey, who is from Russia as well. Why don't you or Boris try to e-mail him and try to see what he can recommend? Also, if you have some problem "understanding" his e-mails, PM me with for a help. I speak fluent Russian, and will be able to read between the lines of Boris's e-mail ;)

I don't know about presets, but I think the VS-1 is undoubdtedly the easiest to get familiar with quickly, and requires the least amount of tweaking to get insanely thick sounds out of. It's a little simpler in layout but has all the fight in the other two. I am L-O-V-I-N-G! the fact that you can pan each filter individually.

I'd prefer to see what wave you are choosing in Meddle...and I still don't know what SHIFT shifts,... and how TRACK tracks :)

Voxengo is in Russia and they use regsoft.net. Might be worth asking about it?
