Congrats, Meffy. Did you get S5PE or S5SE?

Post

PE. Not sure I really need Pentagon, and I bought Pristine Space LT in the group buy (but don't mind helping Aleksey a bit). But the difference in price wasn't that much. It's like a grab bag, no one item thrills me that much but for the money the assortment ain't bad.

The integrated piano roll, that I could get used to.

It is a little like they shook the MIDI Tree for this one. I understand the DXi called Kitchen Sink wasn't quite ready when they went to manufacturing.

But it's a very good package with a lot of music-making horsepower. Enjoy and congrats.

yeah those manuals are great tho', I just have it sit there till I want to know how to do something. Can't be bothered to read the whole thing at once, most hosts are basicly the same anyways.

I scanned through quickly to see what bits were obviously different from version 3. A well made manual but not compelling reading if you're already familiar with the software in a general way. :-)

I had trouble using Arturia Brass to its fullest with Sonar 3. Seems to work significantly better with version 5. No idea why, but it's gratifying.

Got it...haven't looked back.

Glad to see you made the jump, Meff.

I'm definitely going to enjoy several of the recent enhancements. Should be more useful for beta testing plug-ins, too.

Looks like you'll get a lot out of it going from 3 to 5, Meffy. If it were 4 to 5, I'd say save yer dosh. Happy times, matey !

Post

So how's those new synths and plugins in that version?

Post

Well grats on the upgrade matey, I have been upgrading Sonar since version 1 thru 5 so to tell you even from 4 to 5 is quite a leap contrary to what ppl think. version 5 is a total re write of the main core engine, So now its 64 bit thru and thru and will bump down to 32 without a hitch. also even though i had version 4 and most of the goodies that came along with it, version 5 processing power makes all the average stuff they add in sound even better IMO. enough about me as im enjoying the heck outta Sonar 5 and learning something new everyday i use it. grats agian
